Hotel Bristol in Bad Gastein

Great hotel, cozy and clean. The location is great but the best thing about this place is the staff: the lady welcomed us, helped us with the bikes and was always polite and friendly. Definitely recommend it! ❤️

This was one of my favorite hotel while traveling in Bad Gastein. The room was spacious, clean with unreal beautiful mountain view and the staff were amazing. I was pampered and well cared for. Thanks to the guest services manager Inita for improving my experience, she is amazing friendly and professional person. You also have to check out the thermals area, the pool is beautiful and well heated, with amazing mountains view, only 7 min walking from hotel. Near the hotel

Wonderfully friendly staff, very knowledgeable and helpful, especially the manager (Inita) so very helpful. The beds were comfy, the room was very clean and had a great view. It’s only a 10-12 minute walk from the centre of town and there are a good number of free buses during the day. Their food was good and they have a lovely cosy bar. I would definitely come back.

Stayed in Feb/March 2024 as part of a ski package. We were initially uncertain about the hotel after reading some of the reviews complaining about both noise and the food, but pleased to say that we did not have an issue with either. We booked the hotel whilst looking for a cheaper ski break and ultimately for the price we paid it didn’t disappoint. The rooms are pretty basic and ours wasn’t massive, but the bed was comfortable and it was cleaned every day and that’s all we needed it for. We asked for a high room away from the bar downstairs and were given one and never had a problem with noise as a result. Not sure how those on the floor 2 above the bar coped, but to be honest whenever we were in or walking past the bar at night, with the exception of one evening it didn’t seem too loud to us anyway. Breakfast was your average buffet – bacon and eggs, cereal, yoghurt, bread etc. Not a massive amount of variety but enough. We did choose the half board option. Food was served in the bar every evening and we had no complaints about it. 3 courses, always starting with a soup and then a choice of meat or veggie main and a dessert. Unless they’ve recently changed their chef I can’t see what those complaining about the quality of the food were talking about! The waitresses in the bar, though efficient, could have been a lot friendlier. On what was presumably their one night off they were replaced by a gentleman who was head and shoulders better at the job. Location-wise the hotel is on the edge of town. A ski bus stops just outside and it’s about a 10-15 minute walk uphill to the main gondola station if you want to do that, which we did every day for the warm up! It helped that though the hotel has a ski and boot room, we hired out lockers at the gondola station for about 36 Euros each for the week so could just leave all our kit their at the end of the day and head straight off for the après ski.

The hotel is in a convenient location. Easy to catch the ski bus. Our group payed for lockers at the gondola, so didn't mind walking back. The rooms are lovely and were impeccably cleaned and tidied daily. The staff are all friendly and did go out of their way to help us. The only negatives is the food. The evening meals are essentially frozen food and frozen pizzas. The pizzas were very very burnt. Another negative is the noise from the bar below. If you have a room above it, not only is it very noisy but the base will vibrate your room until 4am. So would definitely recommend some ear plugs just incase!

We really liked this hotel. Friendly, clean, comfortable. Great bar open until 0400 if you can make it! 10 minute walk up to ski lifts, or wait for the free bus. Good food (chef makes the best soups) As a late booking, 4 of us had to share a family room and found it to be spacious, with no issues.
