Perfect location — a short walk from the ship station and the centre.
Clean, cozy room on the 3rd floor with a terrace overlooking the lake. The view of the lake in the morning light and sunset from the terrace was charming.
Warm, courteous staff. We arrived late and the lady who checked us in was exceptionally kind and professional; she patiently showed us a map and pointed out things to do during our stay.
The breakfast room is so elegant, matching the hotel’s historic character. The breakfast itself was fresh and natural-tasting, and simple. Staff also were so nice. Highly recommended.

Great room with a beautiful view of lake. Room was very neat and clean and breakfast also good. The staff assisted very professionally. She give all the details of thing to do in Hallstat. As we have to checkout early to catch the flight they prepared us breakfast. Really recommended place to stay for great view and service.

An amazing place with a rich history right on the lakeshore.
The rooms are very comfortable and have a unique old-world charm that really makes the stay special.
The only small thing to keep in mind: if you book a room for three people, you should be very close — the soundproofing from the bathroom is… quite honest 😄

I stayed 2 nights here. The entrance is quite hard to find, but it's all good after found the entrance. The people in hotel is quite friendly. I asked for microwave and they let me use theirs, and I asked for early breakfast to-go (because I need to take the shuttle). They took care of whoever stayed here well. The view from the hotel is also very good. Although the view was not the famous postcard view, but sitting outside to look at the starry night with lake and mountains are all good. The historic building are renovated and with some modern equipment. It's quite a good stay.

The "Gorgonzola" chicken is taty but it is made from austrian blue cheese, Pork medailon, forelle and goulash stew is good, duckbreast was reheated in oil, the skin tasted like burnt oil and the sauce was out of ballance. The schnitzel we got was overcooked but saw better ones at other tables. Rooms are good and clean with good matraces(we stayed in the mew rooms), breakfast is ok. meats are blend but there are fresh vegies which is rare in the 3 star places.

It was the most unique hotel we have ever stayed. The building itself, the furniture of the room, the location, the view, the staff, I have no words to describe how thankful I am for the opportunity to spend one night in such a place. The lady in the reception guided us on what is worth seeing and places to eat or drink. I loved breakfast but especially a cake they had, I mentioned I liked it and when I was leaving they gave me more cake for the road.

We had the most wonderful experience - the room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. There was no noise. It's very quaint, things are small BUT it's an old building and the owners have done a lovely job on renovation. It was clean and the perfect place to enjoy a bit of down time in the evenings. One day it rained and it was a great place to hang out for the day and just relax too.

We were given the 4th floor at the end of the building ao we had wonderful view across the lake as well as mountains to the right. Lovely small wooden verandah to sit and enjoy the view. It was very clean . Small but adequate with a modern private bathroom. We arrived at 6pm. Check in was quick. It is probably about 300m from the P1 carpark but we took the shuttle there from the carpark as suggested. You need to get a 24-hour ticket and pay for it when you arrive and use the paper ticket to get out. There is a restaurant in the hotel but they all seem to close early (around ). Would definitely recommend for short stay. It is also on the main street and one of the closer ones to the parking. Note you cannot drive to the hotel to inload. There is a road bit it seems to be only for locals and blocked by a boom gate.
