Ivasoffia Hotel in Baku

Despite previous reviews we managed to check in and paid the price advertised. Then summonsed to reception to be told by the manager we were at the wrong hotel had to pay an extra $1000 cash - unsurprisingly the card reader was broken - to stay as it was Grand Prix weekend. This despite two other members of staff checking our booking and accepting the payment quoted. It was pointed out to the manager that this hotel was at the same address as our booking. This just started lots of swearing and abuse from the manager. Also met 3 other groups who met the same situation. Absolute scam and avoid the place

scam company! photos are of different hotel, only reception and area is correct. rooms are HORRIFIC in real life, they only accept cash so they can't refund you, the free airport transfer guy is in on the scam and drives you to get cash on the way telling you 'i just spoke to hotel, card machine is broken'. 1. Scam begins with their free airport transfer, he says while driving 'Hey I'm on the phone to the hotel and their card machine isn't working, do you have cash?' when you say no, he drives you to money conversion place to get it. I later fond out they don't have a card machine and never did. The do this to avoid banks taking back the money. 2. The photos are from a different hotel, only reception photo is real, the rooms are hell on earth in real life! And all have old dirty carpets, bathrooms that don't work correctly and and bad state, curtains that don't close. 3. I asked if I can get a refund 30 minutes after check-in, they said no. On the 2nd day I saw people who had paid for 14 nights, saw the rooms then asked for refund and were denied, they went to the police to report the scam. Another large group, luckily they asked to see the rooms first, then refused to pay and just left as they were so bad and nothing like the photos. 4. You can't get your suitcase to the hotel because taxi's can't get into old town, so you have to carry it up hill for 5 minutes. Stay away from this people!

Worst hotel and they are scammers and chaters. They took 370 manth from me for 4 nights ( separate dates ) and when I came back for my forth night they dined and asked for additional 71 manat for 1 night. The receptionist did not even call the manager to confirm my booking and was very rude. I was with my family ( 2 kids) and at midnight he denied entry. They are not at all trust worthy and even the basic amenities was not good. The washroom was leaking. That was still adjustable but cheating guests. Not acceptable.

The hotel was hard to get to. When I finally arrived and checked in, the room was not what I expected. I was too tired to complain at the time as I had just flown from Australia and wanted to have a shower. Th room had floor boards missing, the shower sprayed all over the place and nearly flooded the room! The only thing good about the room was that it was air conditioned which did work! I had requested 2 single beds (a friend was arriving later that day) and it was a double bed which was not comfortable. We stayed there for 1 night only and found another hotel closeby. If I could give this hotel a minus rating I would!! How can they operate with sub-standard facilities ??? The pictures on their website are a lie!!

The dirtiest hotel I've ever been to. Working girls sit on their phones instead of cleaning rooms. The hotel simply needs a thorough cleaning of the rooms. Gray bed linen. The shower is leaking and there is no curtain. During 4 nights in this hotel I washed myself twice under warm water. There is mold on the hay. Not a single table lamp. The chairs are not just stained, but terribly dirty. The table is broken. The sockets hang on the snot. The walls between the room and the bathroom are wet. The windows are dirty. TV not working.
