Radisson Blu Hotel, Hasselt in Hasselt

The heating in our room didn't work, and it was only 16 degrees celsius. The hotel couldn't offer us another room because it was fully booked. Therefore, they rebooked us into their sister hotel. The room there was much smaller and significantly less comfortable, which would have been acceptable to us, as technical defects can happen. However, we didn't receive a single word of apology, and we weren't even offered a refund or a free breakfast. Only after we complained again the next morning we were offered a refund equivalent to the cost of a breakfast. I expect a different level of service and customer care from a 4-star hotel. We will certainly never book this hotel again, which is a great shame, as we are frequently in Hasselt visiting family. In addition to this negative experience, it must also be mentioned that the actual room where we couldnt stay because of the cold, was very dirty. The shower/bathtub was completely covered in limescale. There were black hairs on the bathroom floor and mold in the corners. Really diagusting.

A very bad experience with this hotel. I do not recommend anyone book it. The toilet was under the bed, the cleanliness was poor, and the service was very bad.

We had booked a number of rooms for my brother’s wedding. When we arrived, several of the people from the wedding party were transferred to their sister hotel (Park Inn) because they were overbooked. The excuse used, was that they had received an update, but the rooms in the other hotel are way more outdated and definitely not as nice. To other people from my family they said that their reservation got “cancelled”.
In addition, several of the rooms were not clean: I found a dirty sock in the closet and stains on the sheets. My parents’ room had a dirty refrigerator containing leftover food from the previous guests and my 2nd brother (who was relocated to the sister hotel) got a room where the light wasn’t working and with a dirty microwave with leftovers from the previous guest. On the day of the wedding, the bride’s mother was denied a bottle of champagne for the room and on the date of checkout, even though I had the “do not disturb” sign up, I was disturbed quite early (9.00) by the cleaning staff who was acting rude because I hadn’t vacated the room yet (checkout is at 11.00 or 12.00).
I get that a hotel gets a mixup every once in a while, but almost no one from our wedding party had a stay without issues.
One of the worst hotel experiences me and my family have ever had in terms of hotel stays. Really, the only thing this hotel has going for it, is its location.
