Hotel Iceberg Borovets in Borovets

Visited for 2 nights. The hotel is a good location as it’s a bit away from the main area.
Staff interacted with were friendly and welcoming. The public areas were well maintained in the reception area/restaurant.
The room we had was large. It was clean but well overdue for renovation. Skirting boards had sections missing. Room was warm with good storage areas. The kitchen area had minimal items. There was a hot plate but nothing to put on it so unused. Good size fridge provided.
The bed was hard and bottom sheet on the bed ended up twisted when moved around. The pillows are past it as practically flat.
The bathroom was clean however shower head was old as paint peeling. When you have a bath some water comes up the drain in middle of floor. Shower curtain could have done with being washed as brown shower gel stains on the bottom. Shower gel and soap provided. There was a small tv provided but nothing used. Heating in room was good as well as the dark curtains.
The walls were thin as you could hear people in their rooms. People walking in the corridors were noisy.
The spa area was good. Pool was 29 degrees and adequate. Sauna was good but not big. The lockers in the changing rooms were old and not all were lockable.
Breakfast was good. Wide choice of hot food like bacon, eggs, sausage, croissant and cheese pie. Selection of cheese and meats , cereals and yogurt. Fresh fruit and also coffee and juice dispenser. Early in the morning the choice is good. Went down at 0930 and choice not good and nothing being replenished then.
WiFi in the rooms was very slow. We found using data was better

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights as a group in Borivets here to ski. We had read all the reviews prior to arrival and were slightly worried. How pleasantly surprised we all were with our experience. We had three rooms between us and all three were perfectly adequate. Clean, tidy, warm, lots of hot water and clean towels, the bathroom was spotlessly clean. The rooms are a bit dated but that is all. The breakfast was fine with hot and cold options and unlimited tea/coffee. The pool area was nice and the kids spent hours there swimming and playing table tennis. The lounge, bar and reception were all very pleasant and the staff very accommodating and friendly. The lady behind the bar deserves a special mention for being very friendly and welcoming. It’s a short walk uphill to the gondola and the main high street. There was a bit of noise in the early hours of Sunday morning from what I can only assume was the hotel nightclub which we didn’t even know existed but it was over pretty quickly and some of our group didn’t even hear it. All in all it’s a good hotel. We’d stay again and we are a pretty fussy group. I’ve stayed in far worse Hilton, Novotels and Best Westerns in the UK and Western Europe. I can only assume some of the poor reviews refer to the privately owned apartments on the upper floor and not the hotel itself.

Good value for money. Good hotel and nice restaurant. There was a nice surprise with some entertainment during one of the dinners on the 25th of December. The reception seems a bit unorganised, as we had booked 5 rooms and there was a problem with the reservation of one of them. However after explaining everything was fine. But on the positive side the housekeeper has found my cell phone forgotten in the room after checking out and came right after to find me in the lobby. Thanks for that.
I would recommend the place as it was really a great value for money.
