Dolphin Bay resort in Koh Rong Island

Amazing stay at reasonable price! Payed 35$ dollar for a room with a, hot shower(which is rare find for this price in this area) and breakfast, 30 seconds walk from the beach. The staff is really nice and helpful, the breakfast is really nice and tasty. The beach is amazing, white sand, still blue water. Has hammocks and swing inside the water. A really nice stay overall

Just got back from a 3-day stay. Far and away the best location on the island during the rainy season; the other side of the island bears the brunt of the monsoon tradewind fury, even further down this beach there are more wind and waves. But here, the water is absolutely calm, even on days when the ferry from Sihanoukville was cancelled due to rough weather. Check out the pictures. At night, the jungle sounds are amazing -- insects, frogs, birds, monkeys all play their parts. The bungalow is large, comfortable, well-designed and way better-built than the previous place we stayed, with lots of hooks and shelves for your stuff. Everything worked -- doors, lights, fans, toilet, etc. This is not always the case in Cambodia. The restaurant is very good -- we tried virtually every Asian dish on the menu (when in Rome...), and they were uniformly excellent, lots of flavor without being too spicy. Look for the huge gecko in the beams above the dining room, and the local dog that sleeps under one of the tables that they have to shoo away every morning. Best of all was the friendly, helpful staff, all with that trademark Cambodia smile. I've been home only two days and already I want to go back.

Original backpacker place with top service
If you are looking for the unspoiled backpacker place, this is it! Experience island life as it was 20-25 years ago in Thailand. No Ungabunga. Hammock, palm trees and easy living. If you are looking for partying and colors until dawn, then go somewhere else. This family-owned place with small cabins is pure originality. May it stay that way, so that you can also find your roots in the future!

Beach relaxation
The accommodation was at the far end of the beach in a quiet location. A beach taxi was available for you and your luggage. There was a decent food menu available and all staff were pleasant. Overall a pleasant stay with a nice sandy beach and walking distance to several others. Plenty of eating choices along the beach including an excellent barbecue.

We really had a nice stay here! The people where very nice, the atmosphere was good and we loved all the cute animals! Furthermore the bungalow was lovely and really comfortable, especially for what we paid. Overall we had the best experience staying here on this lovely island with these lovely people.

We stayed in Koh Rong Sanloem for 6 nights over the Khmer new year and I have to say that I couldn't of picked a better place to be. I have been traveling to Asia since the mid 80's and this island reminds me of Thailand in the early 90's only better due to fresh water and power.

There are no bikes or cars on the island and the transport is foot or boat. Electricity is all supplied by generator that each resort has, so you have to expect it to go off a few times a day.

Saracen bay is a very protected cove and virtually zero wind so expect it to very very warm and humid.

We walked down to Saracen Bay Resort three times to eat and the food they had at the restaurant was so tasty and yummy.

Best place to stay during the island visit. Has the cleanest beach! You can check yourself by walking along the beach, where you have a lot of plastic garbage floating around...
Additionally the staff is very friendly.
Food of the restaurant is excellent whereas not so big portions to satisfy big hunger.
Huts are very clean and comfortable.

Although the price seems a little too high, it is worth because of cleanest beach and very good restaurant and not so much noisy other tourists here!

Highly recommend this place! Two hours after arriving we already tried to extend our 3 night stay to 5 nights but unfortunately they were full! Very clean and comfortable bungalows right on the beach front. Amazing service! They are there to greet you off the ferry to take your bags and take you back for a welcome drink. Very good food at the restaurant. We will definitely be coming back! A plus is that they are a very eco friendly resort, bear in mind this means no hot water or air conditioning, but we were very comfortable given the warm temperatures and fan.
