Reviews
The building spreads out horizontally so sections are allocated by letters, we were in section D, it took some time to get used to how to navigate, i turn the hotel provides a robot who will physically guide you to your room, I've never had that experience before, it was really fun.
My favorite part of the hotel was the modern pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The facility is beautifully made and is absolutely clean and spotless, the sauna was hot and absolutely perfect to what I'm used to at spas, the jacuzzis were on the top floor outside, because it was -30 I only went out to take a picture but I did not go in.
I used the workout room, it was spotless and had all the necessary equipment however the only working treadmill really needs a maintenance makeover it was making the most horrendous noise.
Whatever you do do not go to the St Hubert breakfast buffet it's $25 per person and is the worst food that you will ever have I'm surprised I didn't get food poisoning they have extremely limited selection and it's absolutely disgusting I am going to write to them for a refund I am still mad to this day about it.
I highly recommend you bring a humidifier with you because it is so dry I had a hard time sleeping I did bring my own humidifier however the ceilings are so high it was hard for the humidity to stay down.
4 Nespresso coffee pods are provided with a noisy espresso maker and two teas.
The location is perfect to go to the Museum of Civilization and the Art Museum.
Indoor parking is available for $25 a night they'll charge your room and give you a pass. You really don't have a choice there is nowhere else to park so consider the price of your room add $25 a day to that amount.
Le Grand Cafe is the perfect restaurant to have supper at across the street, take the Table d'hôte menu it was delicious we absolutely loved it there.
The hotel should consider hanging some hooks next to the door when entering your room, there is nowhere to hang your hats or keys.
No breakfast included for $400.
The pool? Small pool, and when we came there, there were no towel available. Luckily we brought ours from the room but after spent about an hour in the pool the towel still not available. I wonder what happened if someone didnt bring any towels to the pool. Sucks.
The customer service? I wrote a special notes when I booked the room that not one but two of our family members will have a birthday during our stay and expect nice gestures from them (as we always received one in other big chain hotels). We were told that they will give us gift for one of our family member’s birthday during our stay upon arrival. When we arrived? None acknowledge it. We were forgotten. Asked once to the lady at the reception about this and she promised will send gift to our room and no one come yet until I wrote this review. Forgotten, again.
Edit: someone came with a cookies and a can of assorted peanut snack.
When I called the reception to ask something from our room, they immediately put me on hold for at least 30 mins until I gave up and hung up.
If they charged for $150-200 a night, I will have lower standard and not expecting much. But honestly, if their price is more than $400/night, honestly, you’ll better stay somewhere else. I regret that I didn’t stay at Marriott or Hilton nearby that will easily checked off all my expectation for 4 starts hotel.
First problem: arrival and parking. The hotel has no proper driveway/drop-off area, which in theory is annoying and in practice is ridiculous when it’s winter in Quebec with heavy snow. We had to park on the side of the street, risking a ticket, while unloading a car full of luggage in the cold. For a hotel charging over US$300/night, that’s unacceptable.
Check-in somehow got worse. We were greeted by a staff member who was visibly sick. She literally had to excuse herself to go cough intensely in a back area. Not only is that unpleasant, it’s also a basic hygiene and professionalism issue.
Then came the “pet friendly” nonsense. We were traveling with a dog, and despite the hotel advertising itself as dog friendly, we were told our originally booked room “wasn’t available” because of the dog and we were forced into a paid upgrade. An extra $60 we didn’t ask for, didn’t want, and shouldn’t have had to pay in addition to their pet fee.
The upgrade was a joke. The lobby looks nice, and parts of the hotel look presentable, but we were sent to Section D, which felt like the hotel’s forgotten basement wing. The area was worn down, dated, and depressing. The elevator looked like a back service elevator, with cleaning staff constantly moving in and out. It did not feel like a guest area, let alone a 4-star one.
The room itself was bad:
• Poor lighting
• TV didn’t work
• No nightstand on one side of the bed, so I had to charge my electronics on the floor
• Basic, cheap furniture that made the room feel like a staff room, not a guest room
Service was also weak across the board. No one offered to help with luggage, and staff couldn’t answer simple questions like what time the restaurant stays open.
Speaking of the restaurant: it was basically useless, always closed, and we couldn’t even go on a Friday evening. That’s not “limited hours,” that’s a broken amenity.
Overall, staying here was a mistake. If you’re deciding where to stay in Quebec City, do yourself a favor and pick a reliable hotel chain instead of paying premium prices for a hotel that can’t deliver basic comfort, service, or honesty about being “pet friendly.”
The location is pretty good, so nothing to complain about that.
Also the pool is almost always available or empty, (1.1M deep) which can be great for a solo swim or for talking with peers. Sauna and spa are also included.

Food took ~60-80 minutes because of this, with the check taking 25 minutes after the request.
Extremely dissapointed with the management for this situation. We spent two hours at the restaurant for a party of 5.
