Fengzheng Hotel in Guangzhou

As a guest staying for six consecutive nights (at nearly 400 RMB per night), I simply asked the front desk for two extra bottles of water (since I didn't get the usual twice-daily replenishment), only to be told I'd have to pay an additional 4 RMB. They only backed down after hearing my 'astonished' objection – seriously, just two bottles of water! It left a bad taste. The room itself was actually quite good for me, and the large bed was very comfortable. So, on my fifth day, I decided to extend my stay for two more nights. I initially planned to rebook through the platform, but the front desk offered me a discount of less than 10 RMB (and like an *****, I booked directly with them). This is where the nightmare began. That night, I was woken up in the middle of my sleep by a call from the front desk, claiming the staff member who helped me extend my stay had miscalculated and undercharged me by 40 RMB for the two nights. It wasn't my mistake! Why were they calling me, waking me up with an accusatory tone? At this point, having already stayed six nights, I was fully awake and realized that almost every front desk staff member I'd encountered since check-in had left a bad impression. On the first day, because I had a smoking room and was staying for six nights (the elevator required a key card), I was only given one room card. Every time I entered and exited, I had to reset the ventilation. I wanted to ask the front desk (probably the manager) for an extra card to keep permanently in the room, but I was told that a single guest could only have one card. I was speechless. After being woken up in the middle of the night, I composed myself and called the front desk, deciding to cancel the extended two-day booking. Before I could finish speaking, they hung up on me. I had no choice but to go down to the lobby myself. Sure enough, I encountered another person who seemed to have absolutely no front desk experience. As a guest, I wanted to communicate politely, but I could sense their impatience. I just had to swallow my frustration and go back to my room, determined that even if I couldn't cancel the order, I would never stay in this hotel again. When I checked out the next day, I reiterated my request to cancel the extension. After much hassle, I finally got my refund. A sincere piece of advice: the front desk is the hotel's face. Can the staff please receive some better training? The cleaning aunties' service attitude at this hotel far surpasses that of the front desk. I hope management sees this and is willing to make improvements.
