Reviews
📍Located on Taiping South Road in Qinhuai District, the hotel boasts a prime downtown location with convenient transportation. It's approximately 200 meters from Changfujie Station. The surrounding area offers excellent amenities, and popular Nanjing attractions like Xinjiekou, Confucius Temple, and the Presidential Palace are all within 3 kilometers.
🖼The hotel's architecture beautifully blends history with modernity, capturing the essence of new Republic of China-era buildings. It integrates a business hotel, office spaces, street-front commercial units, and an underground parking lot.
🛌With over a hundred distinctive guest rooms, you can find the perfect room type whether you're traveling for business or leisure. Each room is fully equipped with amenities such as independent internet access, satellite/cable TV, and central air conditioning.
The hotel boasts an excellent location, situated at the intersection of Taiping South Road and Taiping Alley, with the lobby conveniently located within the parking lot. Transportation is incredibly convenient, as it's very close to a subway station and surrounded by numerous bus stops. We could easily walk to the Presidential Palace and Confucius Temple, and the historic restaurant "Lvliuju" is just across the street.
While the interior design of the room isn't the most contemporary style, its spaciousness and high ceilings are a major plus, making the stay feel incredibly comfortable and never cramped. The towel warmer in the bathroom was very practical, and both the overall cleanliness and service were impeccable.
Disclaimer: If every hotel gets a 5-star rating, then the reviews aren't very useful.
**Pros:**
1. I booked a Business King Room. The room was spacious and bright, with windows on two sides, offering excellent natural light and ventilation. The room was really big; the official website states 36 sqm, but it felt larger. It had a separate washroom (about 20-something sqm) and a separate walk-in closet (about 5 sqm), plus the main room area was quite large.
2. All the necessary amenities were available. It lacked some smart features, but I didn't mind; I actually prefer it this way – simple and practical.
3. Quiet. The soundproofing wasn't great; I could hear outside noises. However, because my room was on a high floor, in a corner, away from the elevator and other rooms, and away from the main road, it was very quiet. I used to dislike corner rooms, but now I think they're great for peace and quiet.
4. Convenient transportation and dining. It's 200 meters from Changfujie Station on Line 3. It's a 20-minute subway ride to Nanjing South Railway Station. There are many restaurants and snack options nearby, which is very convenient.
5. A leader at the front desk, dressed in dark clothes, was very helpful. I was hesitant about the room, and she had someone show me the room before I made a decision.
**Areas for Improvement:**
1. While checking in, I was a bit indecisive about the room. The leader had a front desk staff member show me the room before I made a decision. I felt that this particular staff member seemed a bit unhappy and had a less-than-ideal attitude. I hope this can be improved.
Overall, the hotel is still quite good. If you choose a high floor, away from the elevator, and not facing the main road, you can get a wonderful night's sleep. This is my second stay here, and I give it a thumbs up.
Cleanliness: It was acceptable. I always feel rooms with wall-to-wall carpeting are a bit less clean, after all.
Environment: The location is very convenient, just a three-minute walk from the subway station. There are plenty of dining options. Directly across from the hotel entrance is a fairly large supermarket, and the hotel lobby also has an unmanned self-service mini-mart, making shopping very easy. Right next to the hotel is a decent-sized neighborhood park, which is a great option for a morning stroll or exercise.
Service: The front desk staff were quite good, but the in-room minibar was of lower quality; all the coffee was 3-in-1 instant, with no capsule options. The tea bags were also very ordinary. However, the shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom were quite good; my hair felt very soft and smooth after using them. Overall, it was decent.
