Reviews
This was my third trip to Hong Kong, and each time I've stayed in Tsim Sha Tsui. This was my favorite hotel so far. It's conveniently located next to the Tsim Sha Tsui East MTR station, about a 20-minute walk from Temple Street Night Market, and made getting around the city incredibly easy. We took the MTR to Hong Kong Disneyland with no issues, and the waterfront promenade and countless restaurants were all within easy walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
I remain neutral to whether this hotel is to be recommended or not.
I stayed one night at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers during a short business trip to Hong Kong.
The location is excellent: right on Nathan Road in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, next to the Peninsula and just steps from the harborfront. The hotel is connected to the MTR and only a short walk from the Star Ferry, making it very convenient for getting around the city. The area itself is lively at almost any hour of the day or night.
The hotel is quite large, which is something to keep in mind. My room, although not on a particularly high floor, still had a nice harbor view and was relatively spacious by Hong Kong standards. The bathroom, however, was quite small, even though it appeared to have been renovated recently.
Check-in and check-out were both friendly and efficient. I did not use the gym or pool, but I did try the breakfast and the club lounge.
Breakfast had a large selection but was already very busy early in the morning. The tables are quite narrow and close together, so it doesn’t feel particularly relaxed.
The club lounge was also crowded during evening happy hour. When I arrived there was no wait, but seating is quite tight as many tables are very close together. The selection of drinks and food was rather limited (one white wine, one red wine, one sparkling wine and a small buffet). Still, for a quick drink it was perfectly fine—especially considering the many restaurants and food options around the hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Overall, a very convenient harborfront hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, particularly well suited for a short stay or business trip thanks to its excellent location on Nathan Road.
The service was good. Check-in and check-out were very smooth, staff were very efficient and polite.
We got a city view room and it was a bit too small. The beds were tiny single beds, there was little space in the bathroom to put your things, the beds' side tables were too small, the sockets to charge your phone with usb and C type cables were not working. We therefore had to borrow several adaptors to charge our phones. It was impossible to switch off the lights of the room partially: they were either all on or all off. No bidet nor a WC shower.
The room however was quiet and apart from the sockets the rest was in working order.
Cleaning was prompt and adequate.
Breakfast was average, with no salmon and limited cold cuts (can't compare with Marriott) however with sufficient choices for a few days. The breakfast room was very congested but staff were handling it effectively and we did not have to queue too much.
Concierge services were also efficient.
So overall, excellent location and efficient staff but room and breakfast a bit sub par, certainly not 5 star level, particularly considering the price. But hey, this is Hong Kong...
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
What particularly impressed me, was that the manager, who saw us viewing the menu, noticing that am Indian, might have a possibility of being vegetarian, and so promptly suggested about the vegetarian options as well.
All in all, I had a great experience & would certainly return.
You have to wait for seats.
The order takes a while to get to the table. Water is dripping from the ceiling onto you or your plate.
The beef (dish n.1) is plastic like.
The dish n.2 is called spicy but none of us were able to eat it, and the noodles were cold (yes the dish is supposed to be cold, but it was freezing), and they refused to warm it up a little.
So you pay 80$HK for a dish were you can only eat the dumplings (which were good and warm by the way).
Very disappointed by the food, and even more by how the employees reacted (they just laughed at us because we couldn't eat the entire plate).
Quality: average
Quantity: good
Value: average
Atmosphere: not to busy and easy to get a seat at lunch time
No high chairs available.
