This Mercure hotel is located in one of the Hongqiao developments right within the compound - this requires a bit of ‘searching’ for the taxi drivers as at present the area is quite dark and empty during night times. Need to search for the sign to find the entrance from the main road.

Reception staff is friendly but barely speaks any English. Translation apps help overcome this.
Rooms are tiny but very clean.
The entire hotel is non smoking which is very pleasant.
Breakfast - unfortunately - is under average, both in variety and space. The area is super cramped in the morning rush hour times and just a few tables and chairs.
Food is quite locally driven but has descriptions in both Chinese and English

Close to Honqiao travel complex.5 Min drive.Hotel os bit inside and google location is not precise.Taxi drivers know it.They are good and its very clean hotel.They try to communicate in english via translator machine.Good and works.

1st time it was difficult to find the location, but for it finally. A out 1.2 kms from major railway station, metro and airport. Breakfast is having good variety,though they should write in english too. Nice decent and quite hotel.

Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station is located in Sincere Ctr within the Hongqiao Business Zone and next to Hongqiao Economic Development Zone. It is only 10 minutes on foot from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. Also 9 minutes by car from National Exhibition and Convention Centre Shanghai, 15 minutes from Hongqiao Intl Airport Terminal 1, 7 minutes from Terminal 2, 35 minutes from People s Square and 60 minutes from Pudong Intl Airport.

Shanghai is China's biggest city and a global financial hub. The Bund, which is at the heart of the city, is lined with colonial era buildings.

Poor experience, no one is speaking English and use apps to communicate, no same day laundry services, TV service not functioning, breakfast quality is average with premium view on outside garbage bins...quite far away from Hongqiao Railway station, at least 30mn, with no indication... hotel to remove from any optional listing for future business trip..

Front desk was really helpful, very close to Hongqiao airport, and rooms were adequate. Elevator had a smell of old beer late at night but was gone by morning.

I had a kind of traumatic experience there 😣 nobody spoke English (they used translator app instead), the fridge didn't work, neither the internet. As I checked in pretty late all these inconveniences made me quite angry. The only thing that stopped me from giving one star only was that they moved me to another room of higher standard.
