The hotel facilities are a bit old, but thankfully the room was clean and the hygiene was good! The front desk, concierge, and doormen were all very helpful. They've already started decorating for Chinese New Year; you could see the big red lanterns at the entrance from a distance, really setting a festive mood!

I'm planning a full buyout of a hotel for a family trip later, so I wanted to compare the Hongqiao and Yangtze River hotels. This time I stayed at the Yangtze River first. As I expected, it's a classic old-school hotel, which is perfectly acceptable.

The location is great, with easy access to the subway, making getting around very convenient. The breakfast was also quite substantial, but for a Crowne Plaza hotel of this caliber, that's pretty much what you'd expect — decent, but nothing extraordinary.

This time the room (and bath) were clean. The staff were friendly enough and some spoke English really well. Overall a good experience and it’s the second stay in a month and third stay overall. You can walk out of the hotel straight onto the Nanjing road.

overall impression is positive. check in and check out are smooth. the room is clean. when requesting additional pillow the response and action are quick. daily room cleaning on the first day was before 8am, also the same for the neighbour rooms. timing wise not ideal for late morning person.
