Melia Shanghai Parkside in Shanghai

We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean and comfortable. The staff speaks a bit of English and whenever there was any language barrier Google Translate worked perfectly fine so no issues at all.

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday during our stay and the hotel surprised her with a cake. She was so happy! She also absolutely loved spending time at the balcony area, it’s very serene and peaceful which made our stay even more enjoyable.

The hotel is conveniently located about a 15 minute walk to Shanghai Disneyland. You can take a buggy from the lobby to the gate but we personally enjoyed the short walk. It’s a great choice if you want to stay close to the park.

There’s also a halal Lanzhou beef noodle shop about 10 minutes away by DiDi which was very convenient for us as Muslim tourists.

Overall, we highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Shanghai Disneyland, and we would definitely stay again. We previously stayed at Toy Story Hotel Shanghai but found it crowded and sometimes overwhelming especially with the shuttle bus service. This stay was much more relaxing and enjoyable.

For all the families who can't speak Chinese (like myself) my family and I had a wonderful experience at Melia Shanghai Parkside. This hotel has a blended culture of shanghainese-European feel to it. The name itself is Spanish and the hotel campus has a European architectural feel to it. Conveniently close to Disneyland-Shanghai, walking distance to Disney town, beautiful landscapes and nicely tucked away from busy traffic. The hotel campus is beautiful, elegant, and smells wonderful. The customer service was above and beyond helpful for us. American visa payments are accepted. Staff can speak English if necessary. They provided shuttle service to both Shanghai airports at a reasonable cost. The hotel breakfast was fantastic, providing a buffet of food choices. Very family friendly and fun for children. They stocked our room with toys and a children's play tent for our small kids. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and clean. The shower was so nice, having good water pressure. Many of the rooms have a terrace patio attached to the room. For all you get here the price is surprisingly low and well worth the experience. Melia Shanghai Parkside is a classy, professional, clean, and beautiful place to stay, and I highly recommend staying here, especially if Shanghai Disneyland is in your travel plans.

I feel like this hotel is more a 4.5 star than 5 star as there are areas for improvement still which is normal with a relatively new hotel. But I would happily stay here again if we returned to Shanghai Disney.

Firstly, the location is fantastic! An easy 15 minute walk to the park and downtown Disney area with all the restaurants and shops. Also, the landscaping is very well done and felt like a calm sanctuary after a busy day in the park.

We are Melia gold members and received an automatic upgrade to a junior suite. Our room was available when we checked in early which was awesome as we intended to spend the day at Disney and this reduced the fuss later. Unfortunately they kept hold of our passports at check-in which we didn’t notice so my poor husband had to run back to collect them after we had already got through security at the park entrance. They had been left in our room which caused a bit of panic when he initially spoke to the front desk.

The staff were very helpful in pre-arranging a car to the airport early on check-out day. English is limited but that is our problem, not theirs, and we communicated effectively using their translation app.

Our room was large but had a funny smell - I wasn’t sure if it was a smoking room which had then been covered up. The decor is modern and fresh - there could be more storage but there was plenty of space for cases. The bathroom has a glass door opposite the bed which means if you use it during the night, your room mate will inevitably be woken up when you turn the light on - just bad design. The air conditioning was just not effective and the warmness of the room impacted my sleep. More teabags and coffee mate would have been appreciated.

There was a note that there would be building works which started incredibly early. Luckily as this was landscaping it wasn’t too noisy but you don’t have force to see workers outside your window at 6.45am!

Ideal place to stay for visiting Disneyland but really not much else around. The staff and service was great. Room was a good size and very clean. There aren't any facilities to the hotel other than the restaurant. It's a 15min walk over to Disneyland and Disneytown.

Very spacious and clean environment, suitable for families. Close proximity to Disneyland, able to reach by foot. Staff helpful and friendly. Recommend to get the breakfast because not much food options in the early morning before heading out to disneyland.

Great base for 3 nights while we did 2 days at Disneyland before flying to America. We had the family room and it worked out perfectly for us. Though , oddly, even though we had 3 people and 3 twin Beds in the room, housekeeping only gave us 2 towels each day. Beds are very comfortable . Beware of mosquitos in the garden level, though. We had many bites from mosquitoes who attacked us while we were sleeping. Also the shuttle to Disneyland drops you off just at the end of the road from Melia, so it's still probably a 10 minute walk from there to the entrance gates. But still a very convenient place to stay while doing Disney. The staff in the restaurant was very accommodating when we ordered a late dinner and some cold white wine after a long day at the park. Logging into WiFi is a challenge without a Chinese phone number, we discovered. The staff tried to help us but weren't successful. Overall we'd recommend staying here for comfort and ease while doing Disneyland. Only 20 minutes to Pudong airport

We arrived at Melia Parkside Shanghai using DiDi from Pudong Airport — very smooth and convenient, took about 40–50 minutes depending on traffic.

The hotel is clean, modern, and surprisingly quiet, even though it’s located near a major attraction. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and comfortable — perfect after a long day of travel.

It feels a bit secluded, which we actually liked, but do note that getting to Disneyland takes about a 25-minute walk. It’s manageable if you’re used to walking, or you can always book another quick DiDi ride.

Overall, a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, especially if you’re visiting Shanghai Disneyland but want a bit of quiet away from the crowds.

It is a beautiful stay and scene for our family trip ❤️ walking distance to disneyland entrance, Free shuttle provided till junction, and it takes 10 to 15 mins walking to Disneyland entrance.

Good services, delicious food, good scenery, very clean room. It's very near Disneyland, you can walk from disneyland to the hotel.
