Rooms were really clean. Modern outfitted rooms.
Nice view from hotel terrace.
Breakfast were very poor with few options and little bit stale at some times. Very few options for people that doesn’t eat pork. Very weird system for power in room. You have to have your key in dedicated slot but even if you don’t have it there lights and everything else works normally only AC isn’t working, and what even more weird you have to have all doors and windows shut to have power for lights and AC. You have two switches for light in main room but if you switch them both on light doesnt work anymore.

This hotel has seen its best days long gone. The rooms do seem to have had a recent renovation to some extent, but there are still many broken fixtures all around the hotel and the balconies are completely unkept. The outside of the hotel needs a total renovation and is falling apart with rusty AC units. There was only one small spider in my bathroom; forgivable, but there was a splattered insect on the wall next to a plug (not sure what it was, but it hadn't been cleaned off) and a dead cockroach on the terrace. I didn't see any live but if there was one dead I can presume there are others live somewhere. I swam briefly in the pool but soon got out when I saw the rim. It hasn't been properly cleaned for a while. The food at breakfast was basic and adequate. I didn't eat much as I had a feeling it might make me ill. It didn't, but I had been kind of turned off by the whole hotel. The restaurant also has some terrible tables with legs that stick out beyond the table width - so everybody trips over them constantly. Basically, the whole hotel needs demolishing and starting again.

We traveled to Croatia—a country we love and return to every year. But this time, we made the mistake of booking this hotel. And that mistake cost us more than just money—it ruined the beginning of our holiday, forced us to leave early, and left us feeling deceived. Here's what we were met with: The elevator didn’t work. At first, the staff said it was working. But when we asked them to try it themselves—nothing happened. Then a janitor was called, who also insisted it worked... until someone asked: “But does it open?” That’s when the truth finally came out: No, it doesn’t actually work. It was as if nobody wanted to take responsibility, and instead they gaslighted both us and each other. They seemed to believe that if they say something works, tastes good, or looks fine—we’re supposed to accept that, even when the reality clearly says otherwise. No air conditioning in the room. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave with two kids, and the AC was completely non-functional. When we brought it up, the response was: “It worked yesterday.” As if that somehow made the unbearable heat more tolerable today? We sat for a long time in the stifling room, sweating, waiting for someone to come fix it—but no solution ever came. Again, the same pattern: avoiding responsibility instead of solving the problem. Their “solution”? We could move to another room for one night, and then move back the next day. This would have meant repacking and relocating twice during a five-day stay, while still not knowing if the issue would come back. It wasn’t a solution—it was a way of pushing the problem forward and hoping we’d settle. No lighting in the bathroom. The bathroom was pitch dark. Their excuse? You guessed it: “It worked yesterday.” We had to use a phone flashlight so our daughter could use the toilet in the dark. The food was awful. We ordered pasta bolognese and “pasta with meat”—both were overcooked, tasted old, and felt like they had been frozen for days. Genuinely unappetizing and impossible to eat. A disgusting smell in the room. Every time we opened the door, we were met by a mix of trash and old fish. Unbearable. The building was falling apart. Everywhere we looked: rusty AC units hanging from each room, cracked walls, rusty railings, decaying facades. Even the hotel’s star rating sign was covered in rust—a sad symbol of the complete lack of care and maintenance. The beaches nearby were among the worst we’ve seen in Croatia. We tried to rebook Due to wildfires in the south, we just wanted to stay for two nights and move on. The hotel claimed ******* doesn’t allow refunds. ******* told us the hotel could refund if they wanted. Guess who “couldn’t do anything”? We gave up Not after several days—but after just a few hours. We had time to check in, suffer through one dreadful meal, go through all the problems—and watch our children get more and more tired, sweaty, and uncomfortable, with nowhere to rest. Instead of starting our holiday peac

We travel to Croatia every year and love it. But this time, we made the mistake of booking this hotel – and it ruined the start of our vacation, forced us to leave early, and cost us nearly €1000 without refund.

Here’s what we experienced:

• The elevator didn’t work. Staff insisted it did – until we asked them to try it, and nothing happened. A maintenance worker eventually admitted it was broken. No one wanted to take responsibility; instead, we were met with denial and excuses.

• No AC in the room – during a heatwave, with two kids. Their response? “It worked yesterday.” We were offered to switch rooms for one night, then back again the next day. That’s not a solution, it’s passing the problem along.

• No light in the bathroom. Again: “It worked yesterday.” We had to use our phone’s flashlight so our daughter could use the toilet in the dark.

• The food was awful. Both dishes we tried were overcooked, stale, and tasted like they’d been frozen for days.

• The room smelled like garbage and old fish every time we entered.

• The building was in decay: rusty AC units, cracked walls, broken facades – even the hotel’s star-rating sign was covered in rust, a symbol of the overall neglect.

• The beaches nearby were among the worst we’ve seen in Croatia.

• We tried to rebook due to nearby wildfires. The hotel blamed Expedia; Expedia said it was up to the hotel. In the end, “no one could do anything.”

• We gave up – not after a few days, but after a few hours. We checked in, ate one dreadful meal, saw all the issues, and watched our kids grow sweaty, tired, and restless in a room with no AC or light and nowhere to relax.

Nothing here was built to serve the guest. The pattern was clear: a culture of denial, cover-ups, and pretending everything is fine. Guest concerns were dismissed, and nothing was truly fixed.

My wife, who has never refused a meal while traveling, couldn’t eat a single bite. That says it all. We packed up and left – hotel and money behind – and drove to Zadar to save what remained of our trip. An expensive decision, but absolutely the right one.

• The pictures lie. Online, the hotel looks charming and fresh. In reality, it’s like walking into an abandoned construction site. Nothing works. The staff hides behind policies.

• The receptionist was friendly – and that deserves mention. But friendliness doesn’t help when nothing functions, the kids are overheating, and you’re out of options. A smile can’t replace basic safety, comfort, and responsibility.

Conclusion

We’ve driven through Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Austria, France, and Italy – and stayed in both budget inns and high-end hotels. This was the worst accommodation we’ve ever had.

Don’t be fooled by the photos. Don’t let a low price or sea view convince you to book.

If you care about working basics like AC, lights, cleanliness, safety, and honest treatment – avoid this hotel.

A long drive off the main road but worth it. Located in a quaint town on a peninsula with a great view of the strait.
The staff was very attentive and restaurant food was very tasty.

Dined with family of 5 2 of us ordered burgers. 1 burger came cooked and one was pink inside. I told the waiter that my burger was still raw and i will not be eating undercooked pork as well pretty obvious its dangerous and i wouldnt want to spend my holiday with food poisoning. He then tried to tell me “no its fine to eat, everyone serves their burgers like this around here”. My question is how come 1 burger came out cooked and 1 is raw when everyone serves it the same? Then i sent it back obviously when i saw the chef try to re-heat a already cut and built burger to cook it more and the waiter brought it back like he just done a great job. For my suprise the burger was still pink all inside… kitchen laughing, server had no idea where he was at, and they didnt understand why i dont want to eat a raw burger. Obviously they never heard of e. Coli or how food poisoning happens. Being a chef for 10 years definitely makes eating out difficult. Specially when you have chefs that more likely to kill someone than to feed them. Of course no compensation was given even tho the food was taken back as it was brought out as the chef said it was perfectly made. Great job hotel!
