Reviews
Nice view from hotel terrace.
Breakfast were very poor with few options and little bit stale at some times. Very few options for people that doesn’t eat pork. Very weird system for power in room. You have to have your key in dedicated slot but even if you don’t have it there lights and everything else works normally only AC isn’t working, and what even more weird you have to have all doors and windows shut to have power for lights and AC. You have two switches for light in main room but if you switch them both on light doesnt work anymore.
Here’s what we experienced:
• The elevator didn’t work. Staff insisted it did – until we asked them to try it, and nothing happened. A maintenance worker eventually admitted it was broken. No one wanted to take responsibility; instead, we were met with denial and excuses.
• No AC in the room – during a heatwave, with two kids. Their response? “It worked yesterday.” We were offered to switch rooms for one night, then back again the next day. That’s not a solution, it’s passing the problem along.
• No light in the bathroom. Again: “It worked yesterday.” We had to use our phone’s flashlight so our daughter could use the toilet in the dark.
• The food was awful. Both dishes we tried were overcooked, stale, and tasted like they’d been frozen for days.
• The room smelled like garbage and old fish every time we entered.
• The building was in decay: rusty AC units, cracked walls, broken facades – even the hotel’s star-rating sign was covered in rust, a symbol of the overall neglect.
• The beaches nearby were among the worst we’ve seen in Croatia.
• We tried to rebook due to nearby wildfires. The hotel blamed Expedia; Expedia said it was up to the hotel. In the end, “no one could do anything.”
• We gave up – not after a few days, but after a few hours. We checked in, ate one dreadful meal, saw all the issues, and watched our kids grow sweaty, tired, and restless in a room with no AC or light and nowhere to relax.
Nothing here was built to serve the guest. The pattern was clear: a culture of denial, cover-ups, and pretending everything is fine. Guest concerns were dismissed, and nothing was truly fixed.
My wife, who has never refused a meal while traveling, couldn’t eat a single bite. That says it all. We packed up and left – hotel and money behind – and drove to Zadar to save what remained of our trip. An expensive decision, but absolutely the right one.
• The pictures lie. Online, the hotel looks charming and fresh. In reality, it’s like walking into an abandoned construction site. Nothing works. The staff hides behind policies.
• The receptionist was friendly – and that deserves mention. But friendliness doesn’t help when nothing functions, the kids are overheating, and you’re out of options. A smile can’t replace basic safety, comfort, and responsibility.
Conclusion
We’ve driven through Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Austria, France, and Italy – and stayed in both budget inns and high-end hotels. This was the worst accommodation we’ve ever had.
Don’t be fooled by the photos. Don’t let a low price or sea view convince you to book.
If you care about working basics like AC, lights, cleanliness, safety, and honest treatment – avoid this hotel.
