High Life in Kyrenia

Having just returned from a trip back to this hotel, I found it still very welcoming a the staff so welcoming. They have a key box for late arrivals so no need to try and find keys etc. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is served on the Terrace overlooking the sea, with fabulous views. They have a pool at the top part of the Hotel, which has plenty of sunbeds. If you would prefer a more private facility, they have a superb sun deck down on the sea itself with step access to the water. This is a very peaceful hotel, its adults only which suited me for a quite break away. The also do supply dinner if you wish, again held on the terrace or inside in their restaurant area. As a solo traveller it suited me extremely well. They operate a great What's App system which you join via your room number which enables you to order breakfast from your room and it will be ready on the terrace when you say you will be down. Likewise you can order Taxis on this app and it automatically goes on your room, so no need to have cash for the driver. Restaurants can also be ordered through the app. A very easy to use system. As someone who has returned to this hotel I was extremely happy with the service I received, any questions were answered quickly by the staff either verbally or on the App. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for couples or single travellers.

I had the pleasure of staying at the High Life for two weeks at the end of April, 2026. What blew me away was how friendly and helpful the staff were. Often you hear hotels say that when you stay with them, you are family. But High Life was the first time I actually felt that. They really went above and beyond to help me in any way. For example, I lost my credit card in Istanbul and the hotelier Huseyin was able to contact his network of relatives to retrieve my card from lost and found at IST airport and bring it to Northern Cyprus for me! It was a miracle and saved me a lot of worry. Huseyin also gave me plenty of help in sightseeing, even arranging alternatives to the usual tourist sights, such as a hiking trip into the mountains with his tour guide cousin’s group. The other staff prepared meals for me and left them in my room on the nights I was coming back too late to eat at their restaurant. Laundry service and room cleaning were similarly done around my schedule, communicating via a private WhatsApp group. An old school mobile phone was also provided to call the staff when necessary (even away from the hotel). The views were amazing, not just the Mediterranean out the back (spectacular at sunset!), but the mountains in front as well. The grounds were immaculate. The rooms were spacious and well maintained. It has a great pool as well as access by ladder to the sea (though it was a little cold the first week, by the second week it was finally warm enough to fully enjoy). There are also two small sand beaches within a few minutes’ walk nearby if entering the sea by ladder is daunting. As both sides of the hotel are empty blocks, the only real noise you hear are the birdlife and Adhan (call to prayer) from a distant mosque which I soon became accustomed to. It was a very relaxing environment. There are plenty of shops, including a supermarket, within a short walk and you can even walk to the old town port and town center within 40 minutes or so. (Less stressful than driving during rush hours.) They even have an impressive selection of English books to borrow while you are there (left by fellow travelers for each other). I can see why the High Life has so many repeat guests or regulars. I’ll definitely be back!

A small hotel with just 20 rooms. The rooms were very spacious with adequate space to hang clothes up. The swimming pool was a decent size and very clean surroundings. The food was excellent and brought to the table (no queuing) and sitting on the veranda overlooking the sea made it more enjoyable. It was very peaceful and the staff were very friendly. There was access to the sea via steps this could be a problem if you had mobility problems but there are sunbeds and umbrellas there.

A party of 5 of us stayed at the High Life for two weeks in September/October last year. We have stayed here numerous times over the last few years. This hotel is perfect for a relaxing, chill out holiday. The food in the hotel is excellent and there are also numerous local restaurants to try out. The owner and the staff cannot do enough for you making your holiday. The only drawback is the roads and pavements were being relaid making walking out a bit of a hazard. However, the work may have been finished now. I would thoroughly recommend the High Life Hotel for the more mature guest.

Our second visit this year and our fourth in total. Hotel is ideally suited for couples who want to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of this small family run hotel. Food is very good with views from the terrace looking out towards the harbour where you can watch the ferries come and go. Staff are fantastic, very helpful and always smiling. Great for relaxing around the pool or from the terraces overlooking the sea where you can swim from a small platform. Plenty of sun loungers for everyone so no mad rush on a morning. Can't wait for our next visit in 2026

Lovely adult only hotel close to the town of Kyrenia. Beautiful terrace overlooking the sea where you can enjoy a varied breakfast including “soldiers” with your boiled egg. Owner, manager and staff are all so kind and friendly. Lovely pool and the grounds are very well kept. Short walk to the road where you can catch a mini bus in to town for 50l lira. Would definitely recommend a holiday at this small hotel.

Been coming here for a few years. A quiet get away bolthole. Stunning views, fabulous pool and a wonderful terrace. The staff become friends very quickly during your stay. Near to eateries and main town centre.

The High Hotel is one of those hotels you read about with the excellent comments I can assure you they are all very true ,we have now been 7 times and enjoyed every visit , excellent spacious rooms with very efficient A/C units spacious bathrooms and good showers, The breakfast menu is very good with a good selection, we eat in quite a few nights because there is a good selection on the menu,The staff at the hotel are so friendly and helpful nothings is to much trouble for them, we will definitely be returning next year for another great stay.
