everything was nice and clean and the staff was kind

I thought the comforter in the room was made of Chinese herbal medicine, but it turns out it's a down comforter that's been washed a lot and the feathers are stiff. The beach environment is beautiful. I saw elderly foreigners doing exercises on the beach, and the music was very, very low.

Had a great business stay at the hotel. The room was comfortable, everything worked smoothly, and service was consistently reliable. There is some noise the morning from the construction near the hotel.
I want to note the excellent help from Angelina, who assisted with the morning coffee in the lobby and was consistently pleasant and professional. Her service added a nice touch to the start of the day.

Crowne Plaza Limassol – great location, very dated hotel, saved by truly wonderful staff

I stayed at Crowne Plaza Limassol and left with mixed, but overall warm impressions.

First of all, the location is absolutely prime for Limassol. The hotel sits directly on the seafront with unobstructed views of the bay and ships on the horizon. From the terrace you get classic Mediterranean postcard scenes: palm trees, bright sun, and a calm sea just a few meters away. Around the hotel there are several trendy beach clubs (for example Columbia Beach), so in terms of where the property is situated, this is really “top of the market” for Limassol.

However, the hotel itself is clearly an older property. The design and infrastructure feel roughly 20 years out of date. Corridors, carpets, doors, and general room finishes look like an early-2000s business hotel that has seen a lot of life. There is no sense of contemporary design in the rooms, and even basic modern details like USB-C charging outlets are simply not there. Everything still works, but you constantly feel that the hardware is behind the times and overdue for a serious renovation.

The public areas are in better visual shape. The lobby is bright, with high ceilings and modern lighting fixtures; during my stay it was nicely decorated for Christmas, with a large tree and tasteful seasonal details. The sea-view terrace is a strong point: clean tiles, comfortable wicker chairs, generous spacing between tables and a direct view of the water. Sitting outside and looking at the sea is where this hotel really shows its strongest side.

In contrast, the rooms and corridors clearly show their age. The overall impression is “shabby but functional”: walls and carpets are not destroyed, but everything looks worn and stylistically outdated. You are reminded at every step that the building belongs to an earlier generation of Crowne Plaza properties and that the brand standards have evolved much further than what you see here.

What truly balances this out is the attitude of the staff. This is the hotel’s biggest asset. People at the reception, in the bar, in the restaurants, and the housekeeping ladies are all genuinely kind, down-to-earth and attentive. There is no fake corporate politeness – just straightforward, human warmth and a real desire to help. You feel that it’s the team, not the building, that carries this hotel. In my opinion, IHG should be grateful that they still have such a strong local team here, because the people are doing a lot to compensate for the tired infrastructure.

Overall:
• Fantastic seafront location and views
• Very dated rooms and corridors, infrastructure clearly from another era
• Public areas and terrace are pleasant
• Staff are excellent and give the hotel its real value

If you value a great location and warm human service more than modern hardware and design, Crowne Plaza Limassol can still be a good choice. With a serious renovation, this property could easily move from “good with caveats” to “outstanding”.

I had a wonderful stay at the Crowne Plaza Limassol! The hotel is beautifully located right by the sea, offering amazing views and easy access to the beach. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of fresh options, and the pool area was perfect for relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Limassol!!!!

We’ve just returned from a wonderful 10-day stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus, and it was exactly what we were looking for — a relaxing holiday right on the beach.

The staff were amazing, from the housekeeping team to the breakfast staff and the front desk — always friendly, professional, and welcoming. The hotel was spotless throughout, and the breakfast was top class with plenty of variety and quality.

To top it all off, after we left we realised we had forgotten some belongings. The staff immediately took care of it and arranged to have everything posted back to us without any fuss. A special mention to Andrie and Rania , who went out of their way to help us — Their support really stood out and left a lasting impression.

We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

🛌 Room
Got upgraded to a King Premium room with a balcony and sea view, and the view alone makes it worth it. The room was modern, spotless, and came with a Nespresso machine and a nice selection of capsules. Shower was strong and refreshing, with a basic hair dryer and scale provided.

🌅 Pool & Facilities
The pool was overcrowded with too few loungers, most “reserved” early, which made finding a spot tricky. The gym is small but adequate for a quick workout. Cocktails were excellent, draft beer crisp and cold, and there’s direct access to a proper sandy beach — a definite highlight.

🛜 Service & Internet
Service during the day was a challenge, with drinks often taking 20–30 minutes to arrive. The biggest disappointment was the internet: slow, patchy, and dropping constantly, barely usable even for basic messaging.

🍹 Food & Drinks
Buffet breakfast offered a good spread, and the morning lattes were great. Prices for both food and drinks felt reasonable overall.

📍 Location
Great location, close to town and tourist areas, with a bus stop right outside for easy access.

✅ Overall
Despite some minor frustrations with the pool, service, and Wi-Fi, the combination of sea views, beach access, good drinks, and friendly staff made it a stay worth recommending.
