Description
Elysium is a 5-star hotel built in 2002 and renovated in 2017, located in the historic center of Paphos on the Mediterranean coast. The hotel’s architecture combines medieval castle and Moorish palace styles, surrounded by extensive gardens and park ensembles. It offers 250 rooms across a four-story building, including various suites with private pools and sea views. Guests have access to multiple pools including three outdoor and one indoor, a spa and wellness centre, and several bars and restaurants with high chairs and children's menus available. The hotel features family-friendly facilities such as two children’s pools with slides, a kids club, playground, and babysitting services on request. While breakfast and service consistently receive perfect 10/10 ratings, the beach is rocky and less favored by guests. Elysium caters to guests seeking luxury accommodations with extensive amenities and a calm atmosphere right by the sea.
Location
Elysium is situated on Queen Verenikis Street 6, in the heart of Paphos. It stands on the first coastline, just 10 meters from a public sandy and rocky beach, separated by a promenade. The hotel is 2.5 km from the Paphos waterfront and 25 minutes from the city center. The international Paphos airport (PFO) is located about 10 km away. Public transport is accessible with the nearest bus stop approximately 500 meters from the hotel. Nearby dining options include Kings Road Snack Bar (234 m) and O’Neill's Irish Bar and Grill (275 m).
Tips
- Book a sea view or private pool suite to enhance your stay, as partial views include parking lot sights.
- Be prepared for higher prices on-site, especially for drinks and meals, and consider dining at nearby local restaurants for better value.
- If the beach is a priority, note that the hotel’s beach is rocky; a sandy beach is about a 15-minute drive away.

Reviews
Beautiful location, well maintained - their website is a true reflection of reality.
Tasty, attractive breakfast with a good quality of food.
A very competent ant attentive staff - I started to smoke a cigar using a normal ashtray and within minutes the waiter brought me a special ashtray for cigars that is much more comfortable.
Good access to sea and sea walk that leads up to Pafos harbour. Good restaurants and tavernas within walking distance.
NEGATIVES:
It is unreasonably expensive: a bottle of sparkling water for 5.50 euro, a glass of mojito for 11 euro, dinner for 2 with a bottle of house wine 150 euro. They do not have many external guests and once they charge for the stay in the hotel they could provide gastronomy at more attractive price. 300 meters away from hotel we had a tasty dinner with wine for 70 euro.
There is a nice steam room, nice sauna and indoor pool but there is no pool or barrel with an ice cold water to jump in after sauna. Once I went to to the outdoor pool to cool down I was advised not to do so, as apparently the doors I used were for escape only.
