The environment is very old-fashioned and well-established. Brno is very small. In fact, it is convenient to take a taxi if you live in other places. I stayed at Courtyard a few nights ago.
Breakfast spread was ok. They had your baisc staple breakfast items like eggs, bacon, bread, cereal and some pastry options. One thing that I really liked was their coffee machine. They had an official coffee maker with options for espresso drinks.
The staff can be friendlier and more polite though. They're very abrupt.
