The hotel is beautifully crafted, with so much effort and thought put into it - even the skirting boards have carved designs! The rooms are really special with high domed ceilings and antiques. The staff and especially the owner Marina were really welcoming and helpful, and gave us advice which helped us to plan our time in Luxor. Some of our favourite sites we only heard about from Marina. It is also so peaceful, which is such a rare find! It was a fantastic stay and we'd highly recommend it to anyone

The free shuttle boat to and from the east coast is very convenient. We stayed for two days (we regretted staying at the Ibero Hotel on the east coast for the last three days), and the service was excellent! It's our favorite place in Luxor! Highly recommended!

If you're looking for the best hotel in Luxor, it's Geoffrey's Palace. The butler is excellent and very classy. Most importantly, the hotel is incredibly photogenic, with tasteful and aesthetically pleasing interior design. It's like a castle, and you can take a boat to the east bank; it's situated on the west bank of the Nile. The regular price isn't high, but it's truly beautiful.

Cleanliness: A very new hotel with a very comfortable overall environment. There are over 20 staff members for the 20 rooms.

Facilities: Comfortable and fully equipped.

Environment: The previous rooms were quite comfortable, very peaceful in the mornings and evenings.

Service: One of the breakfast staff members was very helpful and tipping is acceptable.

The hotel boasts distinctive decor, warm service, beautiful architecture, exclusive Nile River views, a private dock and ferry terminal, but its location is somewhat remote and not very convenient to access by taxi.

The hotel is beautiful, but the cleanliness could be improved. The service was good, and if the hygiene were a bit better, it would be perfect! It's a hotel many people would want to experience. I've been wanting to stay here for over three years, and today I finally got to stay.

Djorff Palace is a new and unique hotel in Luxor, set on private grounds quite far from the city centre. It’s isolated, hard to find, and getting there can feel like trekking through reeds and local housing. The hotel itself looks good – clearly a lot of money has been invested to make it feel luxurious.

Check-in was a strange experience, taking well over 10 minutes and the owner greeting us but didn’t introduce herself until quite late in the conversation. The room we were shown was just around the corner, but the lights weren’t even working. The room itself was fine, but nothing special.

The main issues lie with the overall atmosphere and service. The hotel has an eerie, almost unsettling feel: you rarely see other guests, and the staff who were local, while attentive, seem overly trained to follow English customs, which can come off as very fake and pretentious.

Food is a major disappointment. Meals were overly oily and unappetizing, and the buffet breakfast is poorly thought out – served near the water, surrounded by insects, and the muesli even had ants in it. The menu changes daily, but the quality doesn’t improve. The hotel’s free boat shuttle to the west bank is a genuine plus, and you’ll want to use it to dine at the Steigenberger across the Nile, which is absolutely unbelievable in comparison.

The hotel is conveniently located near historic sites like the Valley of the Kings, and while private taxis are available, local ride services are much cheaper.

Overall, Djorff Palace is a well-meaning hotel and looks lovely, but it is poorly executed and leaves guests with a sense of discomfort. For a genuinely enjoyable stay, I would strongly recommend the Steigenberger or another established hotel across the river.

We had an excellent stay at Djorff Palace on the peaceful West bank of Luxor. The hotel is beautifully crafted with large spacious rooms (many with balconies over looking the Nile). We had a great welcome from the owner and staff which made us feel right at home. We would definitely return if in Egypt again.

This hotel has the foundations to be really good with a few simple tweaks but as it stands, staying here feels like a fever dream.

It has a very unique aesthetic, great view of the river and the Steigenberger hotel (where we should have stayed) across and a reliable shuttle service to get to-and-fro the other side. A lovely pool, nice restaurant, decent food and good service.

But the beds are made of stone (the Lapis room had a particularly narrow slab), the water pressure amounts to a sad drip, our room looked over the lobby which allows smoking so whenever someone is having a fag it stinks, and worst of all, it's DRY.

Get them beds sorted, ban smoking in the lobby, get the plumbing sorted, get some Stellas in - for the love of god - and you've got yourself a brilliant hotel.

As it stands, you're better off elsewhere, your back will thank you for it.

Wonderful staff, beautiful property an oasis after a day of sightseeing. The owner and staff are amazing and have such great advice for planning your day. Highly recommend booking a balloon ride through them. Would recommend to anyone looking for a truly amazing experience with incredible views in a unique property.

This hotel is more than a hotel ! The peaceful environment, the amazing staff, the excellent food and great hospitality all through our stay! Rooms are pretty clean and spacious.
Staff is always smiling and available!

The motor boat can take you to Luxor in just a few minutes and can take you back when the day is over.
You can sip tea or a cool drink on the jetty, over the Nile, or have a bite to eat on the terrace!
The pool was a bit cold, but seems like a great spot to chill in for hotter days !

I truly recommend Hotel Al Baeirat for anyone looking to take it slow for a few days.
We know where to go when we come back !
Thanks again !!

A really lovely little hotel, peaceful and relaxing with amazing views of the Nile. The pool area is lovely and well kept, staff are very friendly and helpful.

Thought this was a fantastic place!
It's got a backpacker type vibe but it isn't really a backpacker place.
It has a pool and a pool table and table tennis freely available.
The food was good-try the pepper steak.
There was even cold beer, a bottle of Stella costs 100EGP.
The rooms were amazing in a totally different way. Try standing in the very middle and listen to your voice echo through the roof.
They were very helpful in getting us there from the airport, sorting out a taxi to the river and then a boat across. Note that the boat is free and will take you across to the temples on the East bank whenever you want.

From the moment I arrived Rafat (hotel manager) was on hand to help out with anything, from booking sunrise hot air balloon experience, excursions to different sites, a lift to local masseuse or the shop, nothing, was too much trouble. All the staff were also great, friendly, attentive and courteous. The hotel is a little sanctuary on the West Bank making it within easy travelling distance to lots of different visiting sites and a free boat over to the East Bank. The seating area outside the room was just the most beautiful place in the morning, full of bird song. Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my last few days in Egypt before flying home 10/10

A fantastic, beautiful location, we woke to the tweating of birds rather than the honking of horns. Our kids loved it, playing table tennis and pool, and hunting for the small lizzards in the garden. Staff were very helpful and accommodating - providing water taxi transfers, at seemingly all hours, to the east bank, which made life very easy for tours, etc. The whole ambience was calm and peaceful. Food at the restaurant was very good and at a reasonable price. Some of the best food we had in Egypt. I suspect some of the poor reviews were based on tour operators rather than the hotel.
