Hygiene: The hygiene was appalling. Upon entering the hotel, there was a very unpleasant dusty smell, which changed to a strong paint odor in the hallway, making it extremely nauseating. The towels in the room were black and unusable; it was disgusting. I've never seen such dirty towels in all my hotel stays in Egypt. The sheets were also filthy, with large patches of old black grime, making it very uncomfortable to sleep in.
Environment: The hotel probably gave us a very poor room because we were Chinese, on the lowest floor, with the street right below the window. If you have trouble sleeping, definitely don't stay at this hotel; even with earplugs, I couldn't sleep. It became incredibly noisy around noon and continued until 2 or 3 AM; I couldn't stand it. The black video is a recording I made of the noise in the room at 1 AM; it was like a bunch of monkeys reverting to their primal state—it gave me a headache.
Service: The service was the most disgusting aspect. We wanted to check out a little late in the afternoon, so we asked the front desk. A man, presumably the owner, readily agreed with a fawning and obsequious expression, saying it was possible, but we needed to "help each other out"—probably hoping for a good review. Then, the woman next to us mentioned the platform we booked through, and the man's attitude immediately changed drastically; he insisted we check out by noon. It was truly disgusting. This clearly shows that Luxor doesn't care about Ctrip reviews and doesn't really want to do business with Chinese customers. So, don't stay at this hotel, and definitely don't book it through Ctrip. Avoid it!
