The whole experience at The Regent was wonderful. At 1st I was a bit disappointed that there was not a room w/a balcony available, but our room 210 was amazing. It's on a corner, so it had amazing views in 2 different directions, over the canals, in a perfect part of town. The windows open completely, so you can stand and look over, as though you're on a balcony. The room was spacious, with a nice sitting area. The room was refreshed every morning and evening, and the coffee/tea area was nice. We didn't eat at the hotel, but found a delightful Brasserie 116. Since we drove and had been on a longer vacation, we used a laundromat near by on the 1st morning, and walked around the quiet town during the wash. Parking in the outdoor lot at the hotel was perfect. I would highly recommend the Regent!

This is the second time I have visited this hotel this year. The first time was in May and the second in December. I absolutely loved everything about the hotel the first time but the second time was a disaster. We were allocated the worst room in the hotel with a window that looked out onto a wall just a few feet away and the decor was rough and depressing. Thankfully they let us have a different room the following day but this should never have happened. There was a very brash tall lady who wore glasses on reception who was rude, ignorant and officious with me which spoiled my holiday. Restaurant staff, porters and housekeeping staff were great. We will never return I'm afraid.

A solid 4-star hotel at best. The location & view from the room is excellent and the amenities - spa, bar and a reputable restaurant - have potential, but the overall experience fell short of the 5-star standard the hotel advertises.

Upon arrival, I walked in carrying two suitcases. Although a doorman and several staff members were present, there was no greeting and no offer of assistance as I carried the bags across the lobby. At check-in we were informed that the restaurant was fully booked and that room-service orders had to be placed by 5pm. With check-in from 4pm, this cut-off seems unreasonable for a 5-star property. We were told this was “standard” for the hotel, yet it had never been communicated beforehand; fortunately we had made alternative dinner plans.

Reaching the room (again, no offer of help with luggage), the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was not properly cleaned and the lack of a fixed shower head made showers awkward. The TV isn’t internet-enabled, so no streaming or casting is possible. More surprisingly, our room wasn’t cleaned on the second day; we were later told we should have requested this in advance, which is highly unusual for a hotel claiming 5-star service. Ironically, the only time we saw housekeeping was at 12:05 on check-out day lingering outside the room wanting to turn it over.

Service issues continued at the bar, where it took multiple attempts to receive the correct drinks order on the final day - including a 30-minute wait for a single beer. These may sound like small things, but in a true 5-star hotel they simply shouldn’t happen, let alone repeatedly.

Finally, spa access is limited to one one-hour slot per day and must be booked ahead of arrival, which isn’t ideal for a city-break stay. I do appreciate the spa is of small size though, so rules like this are required to limited numbers.

Overall, the hotel is pleasant enough as a base for a few nights in Strasbourg, but it falls short in many areas when compared with other European 5-star establishments. Unlikely I would stay again.

The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean, we had everything we could have wanted! The location was prime (and our view had a great view of Christmas market). Most importantly, everyone here was very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend and would stay here again!

Located in the heart of Strasbourg's Old Town, in the Petite France area, the hotel building itself is a prominent landmark, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. Just meters from the pedestrian street (main shopping street), it's within easy reach of famous restaurants and eateries like 116, and Strasbourg Cathedral and the Strasbourg River are also within walking distance. The hotel boasts first-class facilities, impeccable cleanliness, and warm service. Upon our departure, the hotel manager not only helped us with our luggage but also gifted us two bottles of premium mineral water. Such a wonderful landmark hotel—we'll definitely stay at Petite France again next time we're in Strasbourg! 👍👍👍

In Petite France, despite being surrounded by tourists, the noise level was surprisingly low, making for a very comfortable stay.

Facilities: The hotel has four floors; the elevator takes you to the third floor, and staff helped with luggage to the fourth floor. Someone also offered assistance when checking out by phone. The room's decor shows signs of age, with some rotten wood, but efforts were made to preserve it. The view from the window was beautiful. There's a spa and facial service on the first floor. Each room has one hour of central shower and sauna time per day, but it's not separated for men and women; bringing a swimsuit is recommended.

Cleanliness: Showers and toilets are separate and very clean.

Environment: The interior is quiet and comfortable, and the surrounding architecture creates a sense of tranquility.

Service: Everyone from the front desk to the restaurant staff was very welcoming.

P.S. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but everything was delicious. Eggs are available, and coffee and tea are also included.

The hotel is very well located for exploring Strasbourg. The reception staff is very friendly and speaks English and French. They speak little to no German. The hotel is of a high standard, and the superior room is ideal if you're only staying overnight. Otherwise, I would recommend the larger room. Room service is excellent, and the hotel is very clean. Booking breakfast is definitely worthwhile! The restaurant staff in the morning are also very attentive and friendly.

We didn't use the spa area.

We also didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening.

The hotel's location is actually quite good, but there's a section of cobblestone road leading to it, making it difficult to drag luggage. If you have luggage, you can also reach the hotel via a nearby park-like gravel path. If you arrive at night, taxis won't get you to the hotel entrance; there are two roadblocks, and you'll have to drag your suitcase in. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, and reusable slippers are provided. The staff are all kind and friendly. It's quite convenient for taking photos at the cathedral and Petite France in the early morning and evening.

We had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. They charged our card twice – both before arrival and after – and later claimed we had made a double booking, with one marked as a no-show. The hotel never mentioned this at check-in, which they should have if they truly believed we had booked twice. We only discovered the issue afterwards, and they have since refused to correct it, taking more than €1,500 without justification.

We had booked a suite, but in reality it was just two separate rooms with different numbers, one of which we never used – a waste of space. Breakfast was good, and we appreciated being able to bring our dog into the restaurant, but overall the experience left us feeling misled and taken advantage of.

We will not return.
