Had to call a number to get pass code for hotel. Had to carry bags up 3 floors. Halls dirty. No one else in hotel that we knew about

My wife and I prepaid for this hotel online for 2 nights. On arrival we were shown to a dark, gloomy room on the 3rd floor. On opening the door the smell was so foul that we immediately left and found another hotel. We left so quickly that we didn't check out the bathroom/shower so have no idea how bad this was.

We were traveling by bicycle and the lady at the reception told us to leave our bicycles there for them to be safe. We wanted to leave at 6am and the whole place was closed and reception locked from the inside with no way to retrieve our bikes. We called their mobile numbers and were told no one could help we would have to wait 3h until 9am... Very poor service when we told the lady at reception we didn't want breakfast because we were leaving very early at 6am and even asked where we could leave the keys for checkout.
This delayed our trip on 3 hours which mean we only arrived at out destination late at night

You should stay here!
Lovely room. Comfy beds. Would be nice if they had a sign in English saying to go to the restaurant instead of just a phone number, as the hotel doors were locked.
I speak little French and the person on the phone spoke little English. Luckily there was someone with them who could help out. Very lovely place and very nice people once we figured out how to communicate.

Only visit the restaurant of the hotel…
The meal, steak was ok.
We had a place inside to avoid smokers, but then the garcon starts smoking at the entree, you could smell it all inside :-(!

I made a reservation for the wrong month. They refused to refund my money or to give me a credit to visit at a different time.

PLUS: great position, clean.
CONS: uhm.... Very, very old. The whole hotel would need a total renovation. The noise from the other rooms is loud, toilet door is broken, many many issues everywhere.
Good for one, two nights at maximum.

A helpful, welcoming and fun reception by the staff. Lovely starters and mains on the lunch menu and best moules ever! The moules normande were especially good!
