Hôtel des Marronniers in Paris

We found this hotel through a Frommer's tour book that we consulted when preparing for our trip to Paris. As it turned out, we made a good decision, and we were very happy with our stay. The hotel is located in the 6th arrondissement in the St. Germain des Pres neighborhood, which is within walking distance of the Louvre, the Musee d'Orsay, as well as many restaurants, cafes and shops. We found we were able to walk just about everywhere.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The staff spoke fluent English, which we appreciated since our French was not up to par. We had the hotel breakfast there on a few occasions, which also was very good with a nice variety of options including scrambled eggs, sweet breads, yogurt, and fruit. They also provided fresh juice and coffee. We also took advantage of sitting in the courtyard a couple of afternoons and evenings to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine. The elevator is relatively new and works great! We had a nice view from our 4th floor room, and it was very quiet. The church nearby did ring the bells on occasion, but it wasn't so frequent or loud as to be disturbing (we found it rather charming actually).
We really appreciate the care and service provided by everyone there, and would love to stay there again on our next trip to Paris!

My wife and I loved this hotel. Excellent staff that were very willing to help, from check-in, finding restaurants and breakfast service. Great location to sites, restaurants, museums, shopping and we always felt safe. Room was comfortable, clean, quiet and well stocked. Enjoyed our stay there and will stay again.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago for 3 nights. We were so happy we did! It was a fantastic location....easy walking distance to museums, restaurants, RER, subway system. It was a perfect location. Staff are so helpful and friendly and are there 24/7. Breakfast was great too! We will definitely stay here on our next visit!

We stayed at Hotel des Marronniers for five days during May. First and foremost, the location of this hotel is excellent. It is located on a very quiet street within the Saint-Germain area, and its proximity not only to cafes and restaurants, but also to major attractions such as Saint Chapelle, Notre Dame, the Louvre Museum and two Metro stations is superb.

Secondly : the area is extremely quiet at night and very peaceful overall. Once you enter the hotel, you immediately get a feeling of calmness, with the staff being extremely welcoming at any time of the day, which was a major plus. We arrived after midnight and the gentleman working the front desk was very welcoming and very kind to us, which was fantastic after a long travel day.

One thing that is definitely noticeable is that the rooms are very small indeed, but this is typical of Parisian boutique hotels. Small rooms, however, they do have charm and coziness. Bathrooms are small and can be a struggle to use comfortably, but this is part of the overall Paris experience.

The Saint Germain area on the Left Bank is a must if you want the full Parisian experience, and Hotel des Marronniers added this absolute plus to our holiday.

We only had breakfast one morning, mainly because there are so many variety of breakfast or brunch options in the surrounding area. Breakfast is served in a smaller area within the hotel, as the garden terrace was closed due to rain and morning dampness.

Overall, the hotel was very clean, water pressure was very good, air conditioning is available and there is also an elevator to move through the six floors of the hotel. View of the church and listening to the bells was magical .

I will return to Paris and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This is a lovely hotel. I could spend the day and night in my room looking and listening out my window at the rooftops, the church bells, and the terra-cotta chimney pots, writing poetry and making love to the clouds. Apollinaire was right around the corner, and he recited his poems in the park while I sipped wine from a bottle I kept inside my jacket pocket. The bookstores, cafes, and antique stores sold mannequins that stared out their windows at night. Just like me! I was old and young and I long to return soon.

The only issue was the size of the room. Small, but charming. Adequate and comfortable. Given Paris hotel prices, this was a very fair option.

It was great! Perfect location in St. Germain. Cute Hotel with small but nice rooms. Very nice staff. Had a garden room facing a beautiful tree in the courtyard which allowed a quiet stay. I could even open the window for fresh air during the night. Will definitely book again.
