Hôtel des Saints-Pères in Paris

Update - the hotel manager was incredibly accommodating to my feedback and offered a discount on my stay and a free upgrade for a future stay. I appreciated the resolution very much and would return to try again.

I’m staying in Room 301, and I want future travelers to be aware of what this room actually is. It is literally under the stairs and directly across from reception, with nonstop noise from people walking above and constant activity from the front desk. It feels like a “spare room” the hotel shouldn’t be renting out at full price.

Before checking in, I specifically asked the receptionist whether the rooms were comparable. He assured me they were, aside from normal old-hotel quirks. But once I got inside and realized how loud it was, I called down and only then was I told that this room has a known noise issue. That was not disclosed upfront.

I also booked two other rooms at the same rate, both bright, quiet, and perfectly nice. Meanwhile, my room feels like being put in a cupboard under the stairs. For the price of this hotel and with so many options available in France this is unacceptable.

I’m traveling while sick and desperately needed sleep, and this room made that impossible. Transparency would have gone a long way here.

I will update this review if the hotel provides a meaningful resolution (room change or rate adjustment), but as of now, I would strongly recommend avoiding Room 301.

Beautiful boutique hotel still owned by a family, with well appointed rooms and outstanding service. the location is convenient, next to science po, and all of paris is accessible from here

Loved everything about this hotel. It’s tucked away from the busyness of Paris yet walking distance to some of the main attractions! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was cozy yet spacious and the comfy bedding made it hard to get out of bed! I highly recommend it!

I have stayed at this lovely hotel 4x now and refuse to stay anywhere else on a trip to Paris. The staff is lovely, friendly and so helpful. The rooms are perfect and charming. The hotel thinks of all needs from robes to slippers to an in-room coffee and tea station and smart tv. I love the breakfast and the complimentary afternoon tea time and the seating area or courtyard if you want to get off of your feet for a bit but not stay in your room. I highly recommend this hotel for a single traveler, couple or family. I’ve done all combinations and have been very pleased with the different room types. I love the location- on a quiet, quaint street just a block away on either side from the hustle and bustle of St Germain. Also conveniently located to wonderful shops and restaurants and a Monoprix. I had the pleasure of meeting general manager Carole on my latest trip. Everyone here is wonderful!
