The hotel is 30-40 minutes from the train station and 25-30 minutes from the castle. Overall, it was fine, but we couldn't get the air conditioning to heat, and it was quite chilly, about 20°C. There were some issues with the lock, but they were quickly resolved. Breakfast wasn't very varied.

Nice enough hotel but poor location
Nice enough hotel. It is in the middle of an industrial estate though so unless you have a car, it’s a difficult location to be in. There is a bus service but it stops early in the evening and doesn’t run on Sundays so you’re stuck either paying for taxis or doing a lot of walking back to the hotel every day. If we went to Carcassonne again, we would stay in a better location.

Our room was immaculate and all the staff very welcoming and helpful. There was no kettle but we were provided with one when requested. The pool was a lovely addition. It was in a quiet location about 30 minutes walk from medieval city. The area around the hotel was a retail park and a bit shabby. The busy road and state of footpaths meant that taxi or bus is safer option. We really enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I, travel Europe on a motocycle. When in France we usually book into the Ibis. Deals are good, locations on weekends mainly industrial areas offer good prices and very quiet enviroment. Restaurants aren't busy, and a tasty glass of "calvados" is always available. Ciao Fabio from NorthEast Italy

The location is on the edge of town near to major access roads so for a stopover for a one or two day visit it will tick the box for most people. It is 30 minutes walk to the main gate of the castle and a little longer to the edge of the newer part of town by the river so if you are happy to walk then it isn’t an issue. Rooms are small but functional. A good choice buffet breakfast and the staff and very helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and tidy. Plenty of car parking outside. Be aware there is no food available at the weekend in this hotel and food during the week is based around either a 2 course or 3 course menu. Food is very good There is a Campanile hotel across the road which does food in the evening during the week too. If you are happy to walk then there is a restaurant ‘Au Bureau’ which is pretty much open every night which is excellent, very large menu and good quality food. Similar to All Bar One in the UK. Staff are friendly - Especially Zak The area around the hotel is scruffy and more like an industrial estate so if you want to be nearer the action then it may not be the hotel for you There is a bus stop 5 minutes walk away which takes you near to the castle and runs straight into town. This is by an abandoned supermarket. Adjacent to the Ibis is a Lidl store. Buses run every 20 minutes or 30 minutes at the weekend. Cost 1€20 - no service on Sunday and finishes around 8pm

Pleasant stay, very clean comfortable, friendly staff, good dinner and breakfast. Two issues: 1. shower pan was a little slippery, Bathroom needed a grab-rail at shower entry. 2. Bed was too large for the room size, a slightly smaller bed would make the room feel less cramped.
