Hotels in Lower Normandy

The hotel is very good, the services are excellent.  The swimming pool is warm and nice.  If there is a gym room, it will be perfect.  Really enjoy and relax.

Children loved the pool. Breakfast was great. Small room, no cleaning at all during our 3 day stay. Limited food service during lunch and a nice barbecue at dinner. Location is a bit of, you preferably need a car.

Free parking, near the town centre, good for road trip training

It's a bit remote, but it's just a place to rest on the way. Don't ask for too much. The price is a bit expensive.

There aren't many restaurants in the area. Parking is free, but there is a gate bar so you can park safely.

The room was quite small, with very little unpacking space (no drawers), so we largely lived out of our suitcases for the three days we were there. We came back in the middle of the first day to find the doors were locked: a sign on the door told us that access was via reception of the hotel next door. On making our way through the dimly-lit ground floor public areas, we discovered no electricity...

It's conveniently located near the station, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is included, making the price economical. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, offering a wide range of menu options. The staff are also friendly.

Stay at Sept2025 for 1night, as a deviation from rouen to rennes. Fantastic, superb spacious room, good breakfast, very kind personnel. Property well located near train / bus station, tram within 50m. Extraordinaire!

A 5-minute walk from the train station. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable. Nice natural light.  There are many local attractions close by. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants. There are shops in the area that seem to be frequented by local people; they are not necessarily tourist oriented places with junky souvenirs.  10/10 would recommend.

The hotel had all of the required amenities: the rooms were small but renovated to a modern standard, the breakfast was more than adequate, and the lounge was a nice touch for meeting and socializing. I like using stairs when possible and I found them somewhat dirty at times. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Oh I loved this place. Stayed here for a night as part of a group tour. Loved the old world charm. It has got spacious rooms and all the necessities. The food was also great, staff was really nice too. Only odd thing I would say is the elevator, which does not actually stop on the actual floor but sort of in between like in the case of a mezzanine. So you'll have take a small flight of stairs downwards...

Very nice room, upscale welcome ... Small downsides: the finish of the passageways and staircase leaves something to be desired, worthy of a star ... The TV connection is poor, 3 channels out of 20! In this case we make a commercial gesture! No ?

I say, if anyone is in the area, recommend to stay at this hotel and dine at Ivan Vautier. It will bring your Normandy experience on the whole new level . The hotel is very big, but the air conditioning is very hot and almost non-existent. The front desk was willing to give me an extra fan, which solved the problem, but the restroom is still very hot. There are no cars at Disneyland after 12 o'clock at night, and there is no one on the street. It's scary.

This is a delightful hotel perfectly situation in Caen Center within walking distances to everything!! The huge castle, the abbey's, so many restaurants etc. Our room was comfortable, very clean and had a unique design. The Reception staff is so helpful and kind. Definitely try it!!

We were part of a coach tour, staying for 5 nights at the hotel. The hotel itself was clean, the room was on the second floor with a velux window and slopping ceiling, so care was advisable walking around. Great hotel for the price off season. Clean and basic. Be mindful that their is no lift, and in my opinion, it is not polite to insist to an older woman to carry baggage. Junior Suite was superb. Clara and Julienne at the reception desk were thoughtful and kind. The bar and fireplace with hot chocolate at the end of the day was special. Bayeux at Christmas time is adorable.

We appreciated coffee in our room. We didn’t do the breakfast because it was just going to be too much food for us. We did order some food in the bar and I would say that could be upgraded. Just bringing us an entrée that was in a jar and warmed up was not very good. Maybe add some soups to the menu.

The hotel was lovely, breakfast was good, but the staff are really what put it over the top. My Mom's luggage was not on the plane and they called Air France for her and worked to get it delivered to us. I could not recommend the property more highly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel and our room was clean. We stayed in a comfort double that was small a little inconvenient. Side table too small to set a book or personal items and very little storage space. Staff did bring us a second suitcase stand when we requested it and it was very appreciated.

The chateau is beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. The lady that checked us in was superb! Sadly I can’t recall her name. The large bathtub was great and the spacious room was very comfortable. We weren’t there long enough to try the spa service. But I would love to go back here and stay a couple nights. The facilities are basic, but the location is great, very close to the highway. The service was decent. The free parking is a huge plus, especially for France. There's only one restaurant nearby, so I'd recommend driving to the city center for food options. Also, parking is free after 7 PM.

Very helpful staff. Close to everything and especially restaurants like Monsieur Louis on Pl. Saint-Sauveur. Only small complaint would be how tight the bathroom was. A tall person would have trouble sitting on the toilet in the room I had on the 4th floor. But nice view from the balcony.

Just be careful when you pay for breakfast: we stayed there for 4 nights, Thursday to Monday, and paid for *four* mornings' breakfasts for two people, only to find out that on the Sunday the breakfast room is closed! The service is good and the room is OK. It is very friendly to people who drive themselves. Parking is 4 euros per night. The breakfast is also good. The room is a bit old. I drove to Mont Saint Michel. It is about 1.5 kilometers from the center of Caen. It feels good. I stayed for two nights. Good value for money

The hotel is nice and clean. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The room is spacious and the bathroom is clean. The parking just in front the hotel. The is a good park for a walk 2 min by car. To go to the city is around 10-15 min.

Very basic breakfast (even if cheap), broken toaster but left in place by the staff who tell you, "Yes, I know it broke 20 minutes ago, but I'm swamped," and then you see the guy at reception who has time to chat with everyone (delivery drivers), but the toaster is still there and broken... clearly they have different priorities. Shower in room 128 had mold and limescale.

I was so grateful to the receptionist who kindly helped me check in despite my late arrival. The breakfast was also decent. The free parking was very convenient. I will definitely stay here again if I return to the Normandy region.

The rooms can be quite small depending upon your assigned room please alert the hotel when you book if you have disabilities or need a walk-in shower there are a few available. Our stay at the family owned Churchill Hotel was awesome. Our room was very spacious with all the amenities that you would expect from a first class hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Staff assisted with great dinner reservations. If we return to Bayeux, we would stay again.

Breakfast Items that should have been hot were luke warm or cold. There was a big selection. Water for tea was low and cold.
