Hotels in Lower Normandy

The hotel is very good, the services are excellent.  The swimming pool is warm and nice.  If there is a gym room, it will be perfect.  Really enjoy and relax.

Children loved the pool. Breakfast was great. Small room, no cleaning at all during our 3 day stay. Limited food service during lunch and a nice barbecue at dinner. Location is a bit of, you preferably need a car.

Free parking, near the town centre, good for road trip training

It's a bit remote, but it's just a place to rest on the way. Don't ask for too much. The price is a bit expensive.

There aren't many restaurants in the area. Parking is free, but there is a gate bar so you can park safely.

Small but clean room. Breakfast ist good. Scrambled Eggs not. You Cook you Eggs yourself is funny. Never seen this in my Life.

The room was quite small, with very little unpacking space (no drawers), so we largely lived out of our suitcases for the three days we were there. We came back in the middle of the first day to find the doors were locked: a sign on the door told us that access was via reception of the hotel next door. On making our way through the dimly-lit ground floor public areas, we discovered no electricity...

It's conveniently located near the station, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is included, making the price economical. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, offering a wide range of menu options. The staff are also friendly.

Stay at Sept2025 for 1night, as a deviation from rouen to rennes. Fantastic, superb spacious room, good breakfast, very kind personnel. Property well located near train / bus station, tram within 50m. Extraordinaire!

A 5-minute walk from the train station. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable. Nice natural light.  There are many local attractions close by. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants. There are shops in the area that seem to be frequented by local people; they are not necessarily tourist oriented places with junky souvenirs.  10/10 would recommend.

This is a delightful hotel perfectly situation in Caen Center within walking distances to everything!! The huge castle, the abbey's, so many restaurants etc. Our room was comfortable, very clean and had a unique design. The Reception staff is so helpful and kind. Definitely try it!!

Good location, friendly reception. Executive Room a tad small compared with our previous experiences. Stayed here with a rather large group of members of an Emerald Society. 45 people. The staff couldn't be any more accommodating ! Most of us had our rooms ready early, and the others not far behind. There is a parking lot nearby, the service is very good

The facilities are basic, but the location is great, very close to the highway. The service was decent. The free parking is a huge plus, especially for France. There's only one restaurant nearby, so I'd recommend driving to the city center for food options. Also, parking is free after 7 PM.

A perfect hotel, reminiscent of the Etap of old but a much better standard. Everything perfect at a bargain price. We will stay again next year to explore Caen better.

it was alazing clean feindly staff , easy welcoming. the one issue is the parking at night it was full so i jad to park disel car in the charging electric vehicle place , i was tired and want to sleep. coffe nespresso machine 6 bullets with carton cups and suger and tea canderil also. perfect

Great value property in great location Always a winner for me ! You are in the heart of the city and just yards from a car park ! Staff are friendly and helpful ! Ideally located hotel, city center, close to everything. Very pleasant and helpful staff. The rooms are rather simple (even too simple), the tam tam stools as bedside tables are not very practical. No kettle in the rooms, not even on each floor, you have to go down to the hotel lobby to get a coffee (early wake-up call). The bathroom could do with more light and a magnifying mirror.

Nice hotel in a great location. The bathroom was a good size — something that can be hard to find in France. My only critique is that one of the front desk staff, the gentleman with the beard, could improve his customer service skills. That said, I still give this establishment five stars overall.

The room was clean and the staff friendly, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the kettle wasn't clean upon arrival, and two cups were taken away for cleaning and not returned until the next day. It was also very noisy outside at night—many drunk people made sleeping difficult. It's a bit far from the station, but close to the center. There is a luggage storage room. The zasplerie was very late, after 17:00, the first time I encountered this. The breakfasts are the usual French ones.

A neat hotel,which is not far from the centre and offers a really good price-performance ratio. The rooms were clean and the personnel were not only friendly but also very helpful.The breakfast offers a great selection to start off the day with a wide choice. WiFi is limited to 3 hours a day,which sometimes can be annoying. However, if you are out of the hotel all day, 3 hours of WiFi will not effect...

Basic hotel for an ok price! Rooms are as expected, ok size, bed and shower sufficient for an overnight stay, breakfast quite good for the price and parking in front of the hotel for free.

This hotel is great! I would have given it five stars if it had an elevator. Everything was very clean and well done. Our room, 32, had a balcony. The lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful.

Nice hotel, excellent staff and nice location. The rooms are a bit small for a mercure brand and the breakfast was a complete let down. The breakfast was not a full spread, very limited. They have a good parking that is underground and is common to both Ibis and mercure.

i visited the hotel for one night during my stay in Caen beginning of April 25. the hotel is well located near the touristic area in Caen. other than that there is no more advantage the hotel is providing to it s guests. this hotel is a 4 star hotel, however maybe this is my first time to stay in a 4 star hotel in which its rooms don't have phones so i couldn't call the reception to ask for anything...

The hotel had all of the required amenities: the rooms were small but renovated to a modern standard, the breakfast was more than adequate, and the lounge was a nice touch for meeting and socializing. I like using stairs when possible and I found them somewhat dirty at times. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Oh I loved this place. Stayed here for a night as part of a group tour. Loved the old world charm. It has got spacious rooms and all the necessities. The food was also great, staff was really nice too. Only odd thing I would say is the elevator, which does not actually stop on the actual floor but sort of in between like in the case of a mezzanine. So you'll have take a small flight of stairs downwards...

The restaurant experience was extraordinary, the reception was the most welcoming, the room was modern and clean. I say, if anyone is in the area, recommend to stay at this hotel and dine at Ivan Vautier. It will bring your Normandy experience on the whole new level . The only issue was our room faced the street and it was noisy all night, had to close the window and then it was ok. Highly recommend...

The hotel is very big, but the air conditioning is very hot and almost non-existent. The front desk was willing to give me an extra fan, which solved the problem, but the restroom is still very hot. There are no cars at Disneyland after 12 o'clock at night, and there is no one on the street. It's scary.

We were part of a coach tour, staying for 5 nights at the hotel. The hotel itself was clean, the room was on the second floor with a velux window and slopping ceiling, so care was advisable walking around. The room was a fairly good size and the bathroom and shower were satisfactory. The beds were made daily and towels were changed. A very comfortable attic room, wonderful fluffy pillows, very clean. Warm at night. Food basic but ok. Breakfasts lovely. Lots on offer. I felt that the staff were a bit distant and not very welcoming. This was a pity. I still enjoyed my stay.

Nice Ambience with good customer satisfaction

Quiet. Very close to the World War II Museum in Caen. Free parking at the hotel. About 10 minutes drive to the city center. Roadside parking in Caen is very cheap at night. You can park all night at 0.3 euros. It is also close to Bayeux and about 1 hour to Utah Beach.

Enjoyed staying at the hotel which never let me down as a brand of Best Western, the room was spacious and clean, the staff were friendly and nice. The only issue was the shower did not has its enclosure so the floor of the toilet could be wet and slippery that can create health and safety concerns.

Great hotel for the price off season. Clean and basic. Be mindful that their is no lift, and in my opinion, it is not polite to insist to an older woman to carry baggage. I would skip the breakfast as the eggs were cold and ran out in the first 20 minutes that breakfast was open. No one was around to help with breakfast service. There are better places to have breakfast if you can wait until 8 am...

Junior Suite was superb. Clara and Julienne at the reception desk were thoughtful and kind. The bar and fireplace with hot chocolate at the end of the day was special. Bayeux at Christmas time is adorable.

Really nice hotel, modern decor in old building. Not cheap, but fantastic location. We loved our hour and a half in the pool. We figured out the free slippers eventually.

We appreciated coffee in our room. We didn’t do the breakfast because it was just going to be too much food for us. We did order some food in the bar and I would say that could be upgraded. Just bringing us an entrée that was in a jar and warmed up was not very good. Maybe add some soups to the menu.

The hotel was lovely, breakfast was good, but the staff are really what put it over the top. My Mom's luggage was not on the plane and they called Air France for her and worked to get it delivered to us. I could not recommend the property more highly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel and our room was clean. We stayed in a comfort double that was small a little inconvenient. Side table too small to set a book or personal items and very little storage space. Staff did bring us a second suitcase stand when we requested it and it was very appreciated.

The chateau is beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. The lady that checked us in was superb! Sadly I can’t recall her name. The large bathtub was great and the spacious room was very comfortable. We weren’t there long enough to try the spa service. But I would love to go back here and stay a couple nights. The restaurant looked really nice as well. Would love to try it someday.
