Perfect base for an early train. Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Easy check in. We arrived late and had a room in the rear building. Comfortable nights sleep with no exterior noise. Very clean and the room has a kettle with tea/coffee sachets and milk powder. Complimentary customer use coffee machine at reception. Early start for us, so didn't book breakfast or use spa, but would definitely stay again

We loved our stay at the Alex Hotel last week. It's in a perfect location for getting around the city. We were surprised with an upgrade to a prestige suite when we checked in! Massive room which we loved, just wish it came with a safe. We also enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.

Recomend this very good room with all services needed. Silent and confortable but with a super central location in front of train station/direct acess to Airport.

I booked a stay at this hotel because of the positive reviews—big mistake. The location is convenient, right next to the station, but beyond that there is nothing positive to say. The rooms were not clean, and as soon as we entered, we immediately wanted to leave. The person at reception kindly showed us other rooms, including a higher-standard one, but they were not much better. Unfortunately, we had booked a non-refundable room, and despite the poor condition of the rooms, there was nothing we could do to get a refund. In the end, we preferred to leave, book another hotel, and lose our money rather than stay any longer.

Stayed in room 810. Very comfortable and clean room with everything you'd expect from a solid hotel. At a very convenient location right next to the train station and about a 20 minute walk from Old Port with plenty of food and stores in between.

Also paid a bit extra for breakfast in the morning and it was a nice assortment of food. One morning there was nobody there, the next it was crammed full of people.

The staff in the lobby were extremely helpful with anything we needed or wanted and were much appreciated.

Slightly on the pricey side, but definitely would look at staying here again if I come back to Marseilles!

I would not recommend staying at the Alex hotel if you are looking for a “boutique” hotel experience. The staff were fine, but service was never amazing they never referred to us as sir or madam, nor made us feel very welcomed, whilst continually forgetting us the day after. The location is rather busy and not a very pleasant area, it would be better to stay in Vieux Port for convenience. We paid for 15 Euro breakfast “buffet” and it was quite awful with not much to eat and not worth 15 euros. The hotel was fine, rooms were alright but not very well decorated. Guests are given paper cups in the room rather than glass. The term “boutique” hotel is rather misleading, instead it is really just a three star hotel. Would not recommend to those looking for a romantic experience.
