Iveria Elli Hotel in Shekhvetili

Our stay was a huge disappointment and nowhere near what was advertised. The hotel is extremely overpriced for the quality and service it provides.

The photos and descriptions are misleading. The room was advertised as having a sea view, but it only had a partial view. We could barely see a sea (photo attached). It also claimed to have mosquito nets, but only one balcony door had one, while the other door and windows had none. To make matters worse, the balcony door didn’t close properly because it was heavily rusted, allowing mosquitoes and insects into the room. Since the hotel is surrounded by nature and countless insects, we had to keep all doors and windows closed throughout our stay, making it impossible to enjoy the fresh air or the balcony.

When we reported these issues, the reception simply claimed they were unaware of them and said there was nothing they could do except advise us to keep everything closed.

The bathroom was extremely small, making it difficult to move around.The toilet lid was broken and wouldn’t stay closed unless held by hand while flushing.

Housekeeping was inconsistent. On the first day they forgot to replenish coffee, tea, and bottled water, and even after we requested them, they never brought the missing items. Every day the housekeeper asked whether we needed coffee instead of simply replacing it as expected, and supplies were often provided for only three guests although the room was booked for four. The room also wasn’t cleaned during the last two days of our stay.

Breakfast was almost identical every day, with only one dish changing (for example, pasta one day and buckwheat the next). The food quality was extremely low, and there were virtually no suitable breakfast options for children under two, as most cereals and yogurts contained large amounts of sugar.

The advertised large yard was much smaller than expected, and there were almost no activities for toddlers.

The restaurant was another disappointment. We ordered hummus with vegetables and pita bread, but the order was brought incorrectly. After we complained, they changed the contents twice, yet still substituted lavash for the pita bread without informing us.

Another major issue was the noise. The neighbouring Magnika hotel used a grass cutter every morning starting at around 9:00 AM, creating considerable noise and disturbing the peaceful atmosphere. I am not permitted to attach a video, but attaching a photo instead to this review.

Finally, the beach experience was frustrating. Sunbeds and umbrellas required an additional fee, yet there were far too few umbrellas for the number of guests. They had only around 10 umbrellas available, meaning guests had to rush early just to have a chance of getting one.

Overall, this hotel does not match its advertising or its price. We expected a relaxing family vacation but instead experienced poor maintenance, misleading descriptions, inconsistent service, low-quality food, excessive noise and inadequate facilities for families with young children. Definitely not worth the price and not a hotel I would recommend.

Weather is not guaranteed to be sunny, mostly it was rainy. Road to come with car to hotel is not finished yet and you should navigate in the trees. Beach is not clean and you should carefully choose your place there. If you have other option, definitely go to other place.
