Boutique Hotel Filosofia in Tbilisi

We tried to book it on booking.com because we had a better rate there but I called to check if the triple room was available. As soon as he heard it, the rooms were not available on booking.com anymore. The minute this happened, I should have known this person wasn't honest and shouldn't have booked the two rooms privately with him. First of all, they claim it's a boutique hotel, I think they don't know the concept of a boutique hotel, let's start from there. Second of all, they don't clean your room, if you want it you have to pay extra money for it. I didn't ask to change the bedsheets, I asked for clean towels, and at least to take the garbage out. It was sewerage smell in both rooms, shower didn't drain and I had to argue with him to get it fixed. I must admit that they fixed it after me being firm with him about it. I can see that he calls people 'liers' here. I have all the WhatsApp messages and can prove it. Definitely wouldn't recommend to book it. I truly believe people who complain here. This hotel sucks

I arrived after a +18-hour flight to this hotel, Julia showed us the room and we checked-in. And half an hour later, she asked me to cancel Booking.com and pay them in cash. My itinerary was to stay one night in Tbilisi, one night in Kazbegi, and two nights in Tbilisi again. For that reason, I had two different reservations on different dates with this hotel.

We had to walk around and find somewhere to exchange money because she forced us to pay in cash only. I was so tired and jet lag to ask why you do not charge me via booking.com.

Dimitri, the manger, tried to scam us and asked for the full amount cash for the first reservation & incoming reservation! After I refused to pay for an incoming reservation (I told him I would pay when I officially check-in on the date of the reservation, not two days in advance, or booking.com automatically should charge me), he said we cannot stay here even tonight and we need to pack and leave. He forced us to leave the room & building. Imagine it, two girls at 8 p.m. in the street after many hours of flight!! He intentionally cancelled my reservation so that I can’t write a review or report them there, & yet he charged my account via booking.com!!

We collected our luggage from the room. We didn’t feel safe at all because of the bullying, harassment, and hassle situation. First night of hospitality in Georgia!! ** Disclaimer: both of them did not look Georgian; one is from Belarus and not sure about the nationality of the other one! **

We were both jet lag and exhausted but managed to book a nearby hotel immediately for half the price and a better room. After we left, a couple of hours later, I saw a pending charge on my credit card for both reservations. This happened when both Dimitri and Julia were falsely claiming or trying to convince us they could not charge my credit card via booking.com and asked for cash only!! Scammers!

I traveled to more than seventy countries around the world for more than twenty five years & stayed at all kinds of accommodations, from B&Bs to luxury hotels, and was lucky to never experience such bullying and fraudulent people! But there’s always a first time for everything!

Thanks to many red flags, we didn't give them the cash and requested a full refund for an unauthorized charge for no service from Booking.com.

He intentionally cancelled the reservation when we were there to stop us from writing any reviews on Booking.com. I am working on it with customer service to be able to write my reviews and report them as fraud business on Booking.com as well.

They said that they serve the breakfast after 9 am only, which means “We won’t serve you breakfast”-did not try because we stayed 3 hours in first night only! Room was small & okay & overpriced for what it was! The hotel is located in a VERY LOUD neighborhood with no elevator, a lot of stairs, a sketchy building, and of course is full of SCAM!

Avoid the fraudulent businesses and scammers who bully ladies! Not recommending it at all, especially for ladies!
