Stadthotel in Kassel

Don’t stay at this Hotel It’s old and shabby Room very impersonal, curtain was hanging down beds were uncomfortable and mattresses need to be replaced. It was very noisy from trucks collecting bins or unloading stuff. We paid €140.00 a night with breakfast it was far too expensive. Breakfast was ok. The staff of the hotel were not friendly to say the least. Would not recommend this place at all. If I could give no star I would have.

This hotel was in my company’s list of hotel, to use during business trip.(I already have them feedback 😉)

Location is good because it’s near to city center, tram stop and malls and good food stores around.

Issues which I faced during my visit and my 3days trip.
1. No lift working at all for 3 days, I have to climb 98 steep stairs in total with my heavy luggage.(the lift is from OTIS, reason given to me was it’s under maintenance more than week). Seems to me that hotel was full so they gave me TOP floor.

In the per day cost mentioned for the business suite I got.
-120x 180 cm size bed
-No cleaning at all of room, Nor change of towels.
- uncomfortably very small work table (placed below TV Wall)
-No refilling of coffee sachets.

I had a disappointing stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, I was quoted a higher price at the reception than what was listed on their website. When I mentioned the lower online price, the receptionist dismissed it, claiming I must have looked at it wrong. However, when I checked again after settling into my room, the website still showed the lower price. Despite pointing this out, the receptionist aggressively insisted on the higher rate, which felt dishonest.

The room itself was another letdown. The bathroom and bed linens were not very clean, and there were no disposable slippers or enough towels provided. Additionally, there was not mini refrigerator in the room, which was quite inconvenient. I didn’t complain immediately as I had a meeting the next day and needed rest.

Trying to work on my laptop was frustrating due to the intermittent and slow internet connection. To top it all off, when I went to the reception in the morning to address these issues, there was no one available.

Overall, this hotel charges high prices but delivers subpar service. I would not recommend staying here.

We were bicycle touring unsupported for two months in Germany and Switzerland. We stayed in hotels big and small. This hotel’s best feature is its proximity to the train station and restaurants. This hotel has the ambience of a hostel. Of the approximately 40 different hotels we stayed in, this is one of the two worst hotels. The positives: location to train station and restaurants, hotel room is plain but clean, water pressure in room was strong, breakfast buffet was simple but OK. The negatives: pregnant blonde woman at reception has a nasty attitude and has no concept of how to speak to the public who are paying her salary, reception open only limited hours. Bottom line- we would stay here again only if pregnant blonde haired lady didn’t work there anymore. Just don’t expect much in the way of this hotel’s accommodations. I recommend staying at one of the hotels closer to the train station.
