In itself a nice place to stay, but the big disappointment outweighs it.

We had booked a guest room for two for seven nights and taken out travel cancellation insurance to be on the safe side.

As luck would have it, something happened in our private lives that made it no longer possible for us to travel together. Since we were not personally directly affected, the travel cancellation insurance did not step in.
We immediately contacted the Koll family to find a solution together.
However, we were blocked without any understanding or empathy and the generous cancellation period of 60 days was insisted on.
At no time were we offered any accommodations, let alone told that it would be a shame how things turned out. Nothing.
The only thing we were offered was the release of the room. However, we do not understand the possibility of re-letting and since the accommodation was not fully booked at the time of our planned stay, the probability that another guest would find our room was negligible. It was therefore clear that we would remain at our expense due to the lack of goodwill. We would have liked to find a solution that both sides would not have to do without anything (voucher for the next holiday season or similar), but no chance.

Due to a wedding, I still traveled alone for the last three nights and even in a personal conversation they showed no understanding for us and were not interested in accommodating at the time.

For a family business an incredibly sobering behavior towards the guests.

We will make up for the holiday at the Königsse next year - but not in this accommodation.
This accommodation is not recommended for anyone who wants to save themselves the hassle of short-term changes and unforeseeable events.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the accommodation. I have to say that I'm only criticizing the handling of cancellations here. Unfortunately, I was not able to visit the accommodation itself.

It is a pity if you cannot go on a trip at short notice for various reasons, but for which there is no travel cancellation insurance or similar. grabs.
We asked for a solution or a compromise and had made two suggestions ourselves. Among other things, that we would like a kind of voucher solution, because we definitely want to make up for the trip next year.
Of course we knew the cancellation policy, but it would have been nice if you had responded to us individually.
With both proposals, the court would NOT have had to give up its money. We emphasized that we would also be happy to receive any other suggestion.
The only suggestion we received was to release our room so that it could be rented to other people and we would then be billed accordingly (just what is on the internet).
But how are we supposed to be able to determine whether something was really rented out? In the best case, the farm simply collects twice.
We didn't get another suggestion on the grounds that we wanted to treat all guests equally.

I find this approach very unsatisfactory and unaccommodating! Precisely because it is not a large hotel chain, but supposedly very familiar, we expected a different approach here.
My boyfriend has now come alone for a few days (3 nights out of the original 7) for a family celebration.
We practically threw EUR 500 into the wind and didn't have a nice stay because we couldn't describe it due to very unpleasant private events.

We definitely want to catch up on vacation in Berchtesgaden next year.
However, we will definitely not book with you again and will not recommend you under any circumstances. If you really put the relaxation of your guests in the foreground, then you would have better ideas on how to deal with unusual situations.
