When we arrived at the hotel around 4 pm, the reception was empty. After waiting for 15 minutes, we decided to come back later. When we returned at around 7 pm, we were told that our Trip.com booking hadn’t been received, nor had the payment for it. Fortunately, the hotel still had rooms available and we were finally able to stay the night as planned. The room is large and comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast is standard but adequate (fresh and varied breads, butter, jam; processed meats and cheeses; unlimited coffee; muesli; fruit; yoghurt).
The receptionist can’t do much about our problem as he doesn’t know how to use the hotel’s software and seems a bit at a loss with our case. We discover the next day that apparently this person is also in charge of housekeeping. The following morning, we have to pay for our room a second time, as the first payment wasn’t received. After a phone call with trip.com helpline, things seem to be sorting themselves out (trip.com will refund the booking and the price difference).
It’s worth noting that we’ve been staying at this hotel for several years and have never had a problem of this sort before. Could this be linked to a change of ownership?

Hospitality was absolutely superb, thank you so much Katja & Francesco, we went home feeling very refreshed and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed an extra three nights because we enjoyed it so much, just had to change rooms, which were both very clean, comfortable, a good size and everything finished to a high standard. We ate here for seven nights out of nine only because the restaurant was closed Christmas eve & Christmas day every meal was delicious, thank you Francesco, with exceptional service. Katja you are an Angel, we thank you so much and miss you.

A charming and relaxing stay at Hotel Schwarzmatt

We spent two nights at Hotel Schwarzmatt for a quiet weekend getaway and left feeling refreshed and well cared for. The hotel has a timeless charm, with thoughtful decor throughout that gives it real character. Our room was spacious and comfortable, making it easy to unwind after exploring Badenweiler.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and everything from check-in to checkout was smooth and well organized. The spa area was a highlight, offering a calm environment that adds a nice touch of luxury to the stay.

Breakfast was simple and typical of a European spread, with enough variety for a relaxed start to the morning. Not exceptional, but perfectly adequate. The dinner menu was small, but had what we were looking for: a great soup, salad bar and desserts! Definitely try the wine from this region when you are here.

Overall, Schwarzmatt is a warm, welcoming hotel with plenty of character, ideal for a peaceful escape in Badenweiler. Would happily return.

We just stayed one night but had a great stay. The corner room felt very spacious with nice interior.
Dinner also met more than our expectations starting with a nice buffet, good choices for the main as well as nice desserts.

Service was great everywhere and the whole stay was a great value for the price.

Wow, the breakfast was amazing, really worth the price! We walked in at 10am and the buffet was very well served, the cappuccino and omelet were delicious and you could even help yourself with some prosecco! The service was 5 stars and the people very lovely. Thank you for this good moment. We will definitely come back God willingly

Excellent service and lovely breakfast! The interior has that charming “royal golden touch” — floral patterns, golden taps and light switches, in a style typical of German classicism. Surprisingly tasteful and well put together. Definitely recommend!

The hotel is perfectly maintained and run by the sweetest staff. The property has a nice spa area with saunas and an indoor pool. It also has thermal baths close by. Its a great spot to get away from the city but could be a little boring for younger people

Come here for the cakes! They offer the full range of traditional options - home made with proper ingredients - fantastic. (The only minus is that we felt there was way too much alcohol in the Kirschtorte, and we wished there was an alcohol-free option for the increasing number of people who don't partake - especially as this is a clinic town??). The hotel has a very pretty terrace cafe open to the public: seats are comfortable, it has a nice atmosphere and offers friendly service. Fairly good range of coffees, typical for a German cafe. The hotel looks super cute - traditional and sweet; don't come here for modern minimalism, it's all done with love!

I have never seen so lovely decorated interior like Behringers Traube Hotel. They have the best homemade cakes. Beautiful view from the terrace and nice and very kind service. My favorite place to go to have coffee and delicious cakes.

The hotel is beautiful, clean, very friendly quite you can really relax there the fresh air quality is unbelievable. The stuff is very professional and nice I will recommend to all people young and old to go there and fill at home.

Super outdoor terrace. Not a lot of parking space as most taken by hotel guest. Cosy indoors. Cakes and tarts at 3Euro, cheaper than the drinks!

Seriously, this place can't be any better.

Its located very close to the french border in a littlr mounteneaous area, where you can enjoy the nature, you can relax and just rest.

The hotel itself is very pretty, unique style with very clean and an old/ but modern styled rooms, very nice and amazing view from the balcony.

The breakfast was great, wide choice of continental breakfast including healthy fruity option as well.

The staff is one if not the best ever, extremely kind and helpful people working at this hotel made us feel very welcome and helped in any questions we had.
