Simply great. We stopped over for a late lunch after hiking and it was an amazing choice. For Kürbis (pumpkin) season they have special dishes and they are very tasty. Coffee and cakes were also very delicious. Portion sizes are generous and prices are reasonable as well.
The service is attentive and nice.
All in all an amazing place.
Top tip: if you can, try the bruscetta with kürbis. It was outstanding.

Loved staying here. We had a family room for 2 adults and 2 teens. Room was a great size and had a comfortable dining area and kitchenette with all you needed. We dined here and food and service was excellent.

We went to the Auerhahn for Sylvester. They asked to be there at the regular German time to eat dinner: 6.30PM which was way too early. The menu consisted in a soup, a salad and a main dish, which were all nice, especially the meat. Followed by a very disappointing dessert, which had no taste and seemed like an ice you buy for 1 euro piece. Price point of the beverages were quite high for a restaurant lost in the Schwarzwald which was already asking 125e/person for a 4-courses menu. The wait staff was great though. The diner ended around 10.30PM… there was no animation what so ever, we’ve already been there for 4 hours, we went home. Underwhelming and overpriced. Probably should have gone to the Wildbader Hof…

We ate at restaurant. Service and food was great. Waiter was friendly and helpful as we do not speak German. We had spatzel and schnitzel and both dishes were tasty as well as reasonably priced compared to other very average restaurants we have experienced in Black Forest region.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. Lovely room, great location at the top of Sommelberg, next to funicular, so getting into town and back up is easy. Lovely hiking and biking trails, great food, great hospitality.

Excellent clean room, great breakfast, good restaurant for other meals and exceptional customer service. The staff went out of their way to make our vacation enjoyable, including staying open for drinks a bit later than planned. Highly recommend Hotel Restaurant Auerhahn!

The food prices are very reasonable considering just how large the servings are. For example, the pepper steak came with fries, potato salad hidden under a veggetable salad (that’s right, two sides of potato) as well as a huge knob of herb butter. It was also very good, so it’s not quantity over quality. The service was very quick and friendly as well, i’ll definitely go back if i’m in the area again.

We celebrated our wedding at grouse and had a wonderful day.
The Location is beautiful, the Service was great and the food all were really excited. Our overnight guests have felt in their rooms, they are neat and nicely decorated.
The grouse Team has also been done in Advance already. You have taken a lot of time for us, and us in all kinds of tasks, from menu and beverage selection, on the recommendations of good DJs up to the end of the day myself great advice and support.
We can recommend the grouse and would like to thank you once again very warmly to the whole Team!
