Amelie Chez Inez in Radolfzell am Bodensee

Despite its attractive location on Lake Constance, this apart-hotel in its current state is completely unsuitable for a relaxing stay – run-down, dirty, poorly equipped, without reliable service and clearly overpriced.

We booked this apartment via Airbnb and had one of the worst experiences we've ever encountered.

We arrived at the apartment at 22:30 and followed the self-check-in instructions. The smart lock code worked, and we found the key card for our designated room. However, when we opened the door, we were shocked to find a woman already sleeping inside! She was understandably frightened, and we immediately apologised and left.

After checking the details, we realised she had been given the exact same room and floor number. We immediately tried to reach the host through Airbnb chat and the provided contact number – no response. We also called the phone number posted on the front door. The person who answered was incredibly rude, dismissing us by saying he didn't see our booking and that we should leave.

With no help from the host, we contacted Airbnb support at 23:00. Only then did the host respond with a single message: "I will check it." That was the last we heard from him – he stopped replying to both us and Airbnb, even though it was clear he was reading the messages. After waiting without a solution, we asked Airbnb to cancel the reservation, which they did at 23:40.

Mistakes happen, but this level of unprofessionalism, rudeness, and complete lack of responsibility is unacceptable. The host made no effort to help and left us stranded late at night. If you’re considering this place, stay away.

Two years ago we would have given it 5 stars. Now it's so run down that we can no longer recommend it. Nothing is being done to maintain it. Broken parts aren't being replaced. Cleaning is only done superficially.

This was our fourth and final visit to Amelie chez Inez. Up until now, everything had been excellent. We felt very comfortable on all three occasions. Since April, the hotel has a new owner who has removed the seating areas from the apartments and replaced them with an additional bed. As a result, it's no longer possible to sit comfortably together, and the bed feels out of place next to the dining area – profit at the expense of comfort. The space where the seating was removed has been transformed into a lounge. Imagine a room where there's a couch lined up against every wall.

Nice views but I was not satisfied due to the huge numbers of mosquitoes at night inside the room and right above the bed!!

I wanted to complain but no staff is available st night.. I glad my time there ended fast.

If you want to stay there, try to not to get a room in the top floor.
