Fantastic authentic Bavarian hotel and restaurant with great views of Nebelhorn! Indoor pool, beautiful sauna and outdoor seating next to their own stream with mountain views. The food was great and the service friendly and attentive! Would definitely recommend to others!

It’s a fine hotel with a very nice view when you have a room on the south site. Rooms are clean, spacious and wel equipped. The food is very good. Friendly people, and good for walking and biking.

Everything was very nice and well taken care of. The Hotel has a lot of small details for the guests that make the stay really enjoyable. The wellness area is wonderful with a dim lighting that helps to get into relaxation mood and wonderful views to the mountains. Water lounge with resting area (with hammocks and beds) is very extraordinary and relaxing. All the details are taken care of. Very well maintained, super good organized ( they clean your room when you are at breakfast , so you are not disturb later in your leisure time) and clean hotel.

It's a good hotel close to Oberstdorf. Bus stop is right next to the hotel. Rooms are clean and well equipped and spacious, only thing missing was a refrigerator. They have a good breakfast spread with an egg station being the highlight. We can prepare our egg in any way we like. They have a bar and restaurant in case of dinner. The Explorer salad was really good.

This was the third Explorer Hotel I’ve been to and it definitely wasn’t the last. Most important, the staff was really friendly and the check in went really smooth. The hotel is oldfashioned, at least spotlessly clean. The welcome was not warm either. Apart from a nice breakfast and a lovely lady serving us there was not much one would come back for. Maybe the nature around.

We stayed in hotel Berwanger Hof for a week. For some time together for the two of us. And as a base for cycling tours around the Allgäu. The place is great. Very nice location: quit, with a wonderful view. Nice spa (to relax after cycling or treat yourself to wonderful, professional massages). Amazing food. And everybody here is super nice and attentive. Simply everything we hoped for.

We were here for a week and we loved it, the people who work here are real people very friendly and not fake friendly, the food is excellent, the rooms are very clean, it's a shame it was only one week.

Absolutely loved it. The staff was so great and the location is just beautiful. With the Oberstdorf allgäu card parking in town or taking the bus is free. It's a great spot to start taking a hike or a bike ride. It has all amenities needed included a wellness area.

We stayed as a couple for 4 nights with half board at Haus Alpensonne. We would have preferred to stay in the main building, as rooms were available, but you wanted an extra €80 for it. The beds were far too soft and worn out; a mattress change was definitely in order. Unfortunately, neither Sky nor DAZN were available in the bar, which was a shame, especially during the peak of the football season...

A cozy, comfortable hotel in a quiet location in Tiefenbach, 4 kilometres from Oberstdorf. One caveat: The wellness pool is, and always has been, disfunctionally cold, in winter at least. Even if you go in, you'll have to leave a few minuntes in because you just don't adapt. It really feels like a cold sauna plunge tub, which I use it for. There is a small hot tub, which is almost guaranteed to always be fully occupied during the evening. Saunas are good tho.

The food was really good! The buffet offers soooo many delicious things, wow! The spa area consists of 4 saunas, but unfortunately only one is really hot. Second time here. I love this resort. It’s truly in a beautiful location and has an incredible spa. Dining is a bit expensive but worth it. Take time to hike around the region. Live music in the evenings is a bonus!

Sport hotel with class! A great hotel, a bit outside of Oberstdorf. But there is a bus right outside the hotel. It takes only a couple of minutes - and you get a card from the hotel - so no charge. My husband and I stayed 5 nights in a terraced studio at an annex building 2 minutes from the main one. The room was spacious and had a walk-in closet which was extremely handy at the time. Our third time here, brilliant each time nothing to fault. Staff are kind and professional, making you feel very welcome and cared for. Hotel offers a wonderful pool and an excellent wellness spa. Very friendly staff, uncomplicated with individual requests. Everything was very clean. Delicious breakfast buffet.

Beautifully located, great sauna area, very clean, spacious rooms, friendly staff, nothing to complain about.

The hotel was fantastic and the staff were terrific. The view was absolutely breathtaking. I would definitely stay here again as well as recommend it to friends and family.
