Hotels in Oberstdorf

One caveat: The wellness pool is, and always has been, disfunctionally cold, in winter at least. Even if you go in, you'll have to leave a few minuntes in because you just don't adapt. It really feels like a cold sauna plunge tub, which I use it for. There is a small hot tub, which is almost guaranteed to always be fully occupied during the evening. Saunas are good tho.

I had a really enjoyable stay at Hotel Oberstdorf. The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking mountain views that create a peaceful and calming atmosphere. The room was spacious, very clean, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. The staff were friendly and attentive...

The food was really good! The buffet offers soooo many delicious things, wow! The spa area consists of 4 saunas, but unfortunately only one is really hot. Further, they only do two events per day (at least in the hottest sauna) but they literally just came in, threw the ice in the oven and left without any comments...

Second time here. I love this resort. It’s truly in a beautiful location and has an incredible spa. Dining is a bit expensive but worth it. Take time to hike around the region. Live music in the evenings is a bonus!

Sport hotel with class! A great hotel, a bit outside of Oberstdorf. But there is a bus right outside the hotel. It takes only a couple of minutes - and you get a card from the hotel - so no charge. Huge breakfast buffet, lovely staff and a really nice spa area. The hotel bar was also great. The only minus was that my room was in a corner and the amazing view from the balcony was a bit blocked.

Lovely and cosy place. Great to relax or go skiing in Winter. The all inclusive package was great. Spa, pool, gym and a lot of food. Breakfast from 7 to noon, Lunch, Afternoon tea and cake in the spa, afternoon Jause (local cold food like cheese, dry sausage etc) but also cake. Dinner Buffet with daily specialties. First night BBQ and second night rose beef and dear with Asparagus. For me very unusual...

Best place and staff ever , especially Doris Widera She is the best person I met in 2025 as she was helpful all the time + she help us in our train trip and in all needs during my stay at the hotel. She deserves all the best.

Bavaria trip with car visiting BW Hotels in the area and day.trips to Austria, Dornbirn, Garmisch Partenkirchen.

poor service in the dining area and room service , low quality and quantity of food , inacceptable internet performance

Well, this is another excellent Best Western +. Service is as expected in Deutschland, efficient, friendly and professional. Breakfast is perfect, enough variety to serve even the most critical of guests. Everything farm fresh and delicious, well done! This is the third time family members have stayed at this hotel and each time the same . We'll done!

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in a terraced studio at an annex building 2 minutes from the main one. The room was spacious and had a walk-in closet which was extremely handy at the time. Every morning we enjoyed a varied breakfast on the picturesque terrace of the main building and every evening we had a swim in the pool in the basement of ours. We also had a chance to try the massage and to check...

Very clean great service. Only drawback is no air conditioning. (US travelers might be shocked by that) Vonya, was exceptional in dining portion. Breakfast was included and really good.

The hotel and the room very good, service was good but they did struggle with English and us with our very limited German but we did manage! The food we had was bland but that is the only thing to have a slight grumble about. All in All a very good hotel and was a pleasure to stay there

Overall great experience for a fair price. The food in the evening and especially for breakfast was delicious. The rooms could be better and the pool are is a bit older.

Lovely stay in Oberstdorf Lovely hotel! I had a very spacious superior single room with balcony, with an amazing view! Great breakfast, great spa area. I enjoyed a lot the pool, water temperature was perfect and the size was enough for a relaxed swim.

Beautiful and friendly hotel Beautiful hotel, stylish and clean with incredible views and lovely friendly staff. I would absolutely recommend! Even my single bed room was spacious with a balcony and the breakfast was great.

I loved the pool and the two saunas. I loved the cleanliness and decor of my room. The front desk staff was really helpful in directing me towards activities I would enjoy as well.

We visited this hotel during a trip through several places in Oberbayern. We stayed for two nights. The reception was very efficient and friendly. They explained everything and gave us some nice tips. Since we traveled with a dog we asked whether we could take the dog to the dinner. They explained this was not possible in the normal dining room. But they prepared a very nice table in the bar. The...

Staff was great. Location was great. Room was pretty small and using the shower wall as a headboard didnt work well.

A flashback to the 80th. But good food and nice service

Excellent staff. The restaurant is exquisite. We were very happy with this property.

Review is for the Café/Restaurant... What extraordinary good food this place serves!! We stopped by spontaneously one Saturday evening and were seated promptly. Waiter was extremely friendly and attentive and we ordered some dinner and desert, which were both soooo good (you have to tey the creamy pumpkin soup with venison!). If we will return to Oberstdorf this place is definitely on my to visit places...

Awesome.... Friendly staff... Awesome stay.... comfortable rooms..

Very typical algauer hotel placed in the earth of oberstdorf, twins bed room are nice and big but single bed room are quite small... breakfast is rich with everything you needed, and all the staff is so kind to help you with all necessary

A very well-maintained and family-run 5-star hotel with a wonderful ambiance. Tastefully renovated and enhanced. Not too big and not too small. A very attentive team in all areas. Beautiful restaurant areas with distinct yet cohesive styles. A kitchen that presents truly wonderful food, without exception. The large and beautifully designed spa areas, both indoors and outdoors, are a pleasant surprise...

The rooms were perfect and cozy. The scenery was AMAZING. My room was 51 and it overlooked the infinity pool, gardens and mountains with the gondola. I felt like it was a fairytale. The service was outstanding and everyone called you by name! The spas were modern and spacious with loads of relaxation rooms. Fresh air and amazing hiking trails. The owners were always available and welcoming...

Special thank you for Eva Paetow , who made our shirt stay very special. Warm, professional, considerate. Will visit again to stay in this cosy hotel. The Breakfast was outstanding.

Franks in a new design - very well done. Food and Service is excellent, also the choices of wine - very good. Prices are decent. Gluten free „Semmel“, which was excellence, was a highlight besides all the excellent food. After all I question why the family member Mrs Frank needs to act as a seater instead of greeting guests once seated - that way, she circumvents being asked to bring some water - since...

Magical holiday! Great location, outstanding service, extraordinary restaurant/food and beverage, amazing spa, the utmost attention to every detail throughout the stay. The staff is extremely professional, always kind and efficient at the front desk. The restaurant is exceptional, delicious gourmet food, beautiful presentation and the best service, always going above and beyond expectations. The...

I thought that the team & the quality of the food at Franks was excellent. Also the accommodation was very good & the location in Oberstdorf was perfect. If I was in the area again I would definitely stay again.

We stayed as a couple for 4 nights with half board at Haus Alpensonne. We would have preferred to stay in the main building, as rooms were available, but you wanted an extra €80 for it. The beds were far too soft and worn out; a mattress change was definitely in order. Unfortunately, neither Sky nor DAZN were available in the bar, which was a shame, especially during the peak of the football season...

A cozy, comfortable hotel in a quiet location in Tiefenbach, 4 kilometres from Oberstdorf. Everything was perfect: the suite with a big balcony, fantastic breakfast and dinner, peaceful spa area, and above all the friendly and attentive staff who made us feel well taken care of. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and relaxation.

The location is unbeatable. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed Obertsdorf and surroundings very much.

very nice hotel quiet location , good food and excellent spa.

Beautiful suites and views - great food

My rating: 3/5 Location: I think the hotel is in a nice spot with a good view of the surrounding mountains. Around the hotel there were many paths to walk around and enjoy the views from different spots. There were many cats walking around the hotel grounds and they were all friendly which made me enjoy my stay even more. There were often many free spaces in the parking lots. The hotel is not far from...

We booked 2 rooms directly with the hotel for 3 nights and received confirmation email from hotel. When we check-in, they told us that our booking was cancelled by mistake. They provided us 4 Single Rooms for 1st night and Double Rooms for next 2 nights. Nash and a German gentleman on duty when all out to ensure we were comfortable and not stress out by the mistake made by the hotel. Excellent service...

We had a really nice stay at Hotel Wittelsbacher Hof in Oberstdorf. The family room was perfect – two separate rooms for parents and kids, which gave us plenty of space and privacy. Everything was clean, and the balcony offered a stunning view. The indoor and outdoor pools were clean, spacious, and never too busy – great for spending time with the kids. The only downside was the service. The staff...

Everything was great! We really liked everything. Rooms are big and clean with balcony. Service was great.

Wonderful stay! Will definitely return next time we visit Oberstdorf. The rooms were nice and spacious, quiet, and it seemed like the bathroom had been recently redone. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet. Happy Hour on Friday with live music by a cozy fire was a really fun added bonus. And to top it all off, all employees were incredibly lovely. Can’t wait to return!

The hotel is in a nice location walking distance from the center. The rooms are clean and spacy, the public spaces are a bit old. The pool is large and the spa area is nice and clean. Breakfast is ok, quite basic, but the service was amazing. In the parking, they have 4 charging points for EVs, but unfortunately they were all always taken by normal cars, we were rather disappointed by this and were...

Very good hotel, exceptionally nice staff, with an excellent restaurant. We visit Oberstdorf almost every year because of the international skating competition. I think this was our best price/value hotel so far. It is also close to the ice rink on foot. The breakfast is plentiful and meets all needs. The restaurant is excellent, even for dinner. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is extremely...

It was a good stay. Thank you :)

Most beautiful mountains view Hotel. We my Aunt, Daughter, Granddaughter and I love our stay in this Hotel in Oberstdorf in Baveria Germany. Very nice place, clean, great Breakfast Bar, We had a wonderful experience, highly recommended.

Im very satisfied with our stay. Everything was great, mostly the breakfast and kind staff. 10/10. Area around hotel was clean as well as hotel rooms Dorot

We stayed here for the weekend. It was great experience, everything was ok. Nice clean rooms with really tasty breakfast. Would recommend. Jorik

Small hotel with a great view. Everything was great, rooms are nice. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very nice and helpful.

I felt very anxious and scared. This hotel definitely needs to state on their website that their location changes during the winter. My actual accommodation was at Nature Hotel Walde sruhe, located in the mountains. The original hotel was dark and only the intercom was working, so I was really worried when they asked me to call a taxi to come to another hotel. I was confused and didn't know what to...

Loved it here. Excellent location, food, staff, amenities, everything...we will return.

We were here for a week and we loved it, the people who work here are real people very friendly and not fake friendly, the food is excellent, the rooms are very clean, it's a shame it was only one week.

Absolutely loved it. The staff was so great and the location is just beautiful. With the Oberstdorf allgäu card parking in town or taking the bus is free. It's a great spot to start taking a hike or a bike ride. It has all amenities needed included a wellness area.

I found a nice and clean room, the service is nice and tries to ensure that nothing is lacking. It almost doesn't get any better ... And of course Corona is also an issue and is implemented very well. The food leaves nothing to be desired, something for everyone. And of course he doesn't cook like mom, man should get involved, a different interpretation of the preparation is not worse, just different...

I found a beautiful and clean room, the service is good and they make sure nothing goes missing. It's hardly getting any better... And, of course, Corona is also a problem, and it's handled very well. The food leaves nothing to be desired, there's something for everyone. And, of course, he doesn't cook like Mom, a man needs to step in, a different interpretation of cooking is no worse...

A wonderful hotel in the Tiefenbach mountains. From the very first moment, we felt welcome and very comfortable. The staff was always very friendly and attentive. They could read almost any wish in your eyes and were always in a good mood. The food was varied every day with a wide selection of dishes and was uniquely delicious. Breakfast was always fresh and always had a beautiful view of the mountains...

We've been to Oberstdorf many times, but this was our first time at the Freiberg. Until now, we only knew the excellent restaurant, but this time we also booked the hotel. We felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived. We don't know who selected the staff, but they are doing a fantastic job. In every department, the staff were incredibly friendly and competent. The rooms are functional and comfortably...

This hotel is awesome. Wonderful! Perfect! We will be back soon. And not just once.

Amazing Stay.. They were so accommodating when we arrived as we had a ski lesson booked. Got a room ready as soon as they could so we could check in before the lesson. Amazing food and the staff were exceptional. Rooms and the hotel itself was beautiful and the sauna and pool Amazing. Highly recommend this hotel if you want a fantastic experience.

One of the best Hotel experiences I have had so far! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is the perfect start for hiking trips or simply to relax in the wellness area/pool. I can highly recommend a stay and really want to thank the whole team for making our stay so worthwile evem though we were superunlucky with the weather…

The place to stay.

A small Hotel in a residential area but not far from the center. We had a "strange" room, number 12 3/4 instead of 13. No bad luck ! It's on the ground-floor with a terrace a few steps away from the pool and beside the spa. The room is the category "design comfort room ", nice bathroom with a rainshower, double sinks and a toilet with sliding door. The bathroom itself is open to the room. The room...

This is one of the few hotels in Europe that truly stays in your heart ❤️ Impeccable service, beautiful rooms… the entire hotel reflects the love and dedication of its owners and staff. And the restaurant deserves a story of its own — it is pure delight in both flavor and service. The restaurant team deserves special gratitude. The care and warmth with which they look after their guests is simply...

A lovely hotel in a great location. Only improvement would be Aircon in the rooms.

We loved this place. Everyone was very accommodating, especially when i mangled their language. (They were patient with me) the breakfasts were ample, and we did take advantage of the full board dinners several times during out 7 day stay. The food was delicious, and the beds and rooms were comfortable and spotless. The pol was clean the the lawn sunning area was serene and lush. Walking distance...

Very friendly staff. Everything is very professional and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Thank you very much

Super nice hotel. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Special mention should be made of the delicious dinner.

From the front desk to housekeeping, the staff was very nice. The room was clean and spacious. The food was great and it definitely won't be our last stay there.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The views are breathtaking. Great housekeeping service, the hotel is very cozy, the restaurant staff is polite and helpful. Very nice ladies at the reception. I recommend it to everyone!

Booked a summer week here to go alpine hiking. The hotel is absolutely fantastic. It's in the middle of the nature, quite a bit away from the city. The staff is really nice and helpful. We especially enjoyed the dinners. The food was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be going here again.

The best and only. Very polite staff and helpful in all cases. Can speak in English. Best location and view from balcony.

Very recommend. All good: staff, cleaning, kitchen, infrastructure, views.

Very lovely hotel with excellent and professional service located in very charming area of the German Bavarian Alps. The decoration is very lovely and cozy with wooden style and nice accessories. The dining for both breakfast and dinner is really good with excellent service. The room is good and comes with balcony but is not spacious. The downside is the internet connection that does not reach the...

it was a great stay, really. the staff is awfully considerate and friendly, the food good and the wellness area is very new and nice. I wish I could give a 4.8.

The owner is so welcoming and a great host. Breakfast was simply the best we had in Germany with great local quality products ! It's a rustic, with great attention to details. You feel really like in the heart of the Alps !

Amazingly nice and helpful staff, delicious food and drink, clean and cozy interior with picturesque mountain design. The lady took care of us as if we were her own. Once again, we thank You very much for everything and, above all, for our unexpected check in. 🙏🏻❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not only the cow is happy here... Something different, but really good. A hidden gem. Including the super friendly house spirit, Tom... Rooms: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quaint, cozy rooms. Beautifully furnished with lots of creative ideas and attention to detail. The beds and mattresses are great. A truly comfortable room. Bathrooms: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The bathrooms are in the hallway and must be shared with other guests. (Typical...

It was just comfortable! Our breakfast was also great. Sure ... you have to share the toilets with others ... I imagined it to be much worse. You can see that everything was decorated with a lot of love. Gladly again!

On business I ended up in Oberstdorf, and I can recommend the happy 🐄 simply for all occasions ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Was in Oberstdorf on business ... Once a happy cow, always a happy cow! Food and drink ... everything was great ...! Always my pleasure! I can only recommend...

A very tastefully decorated hotel, the hostess was super friendly, and it's well located – the pedestrian zone is just a few minutes away! Good breakfast.

Spacious room with a separate bedroom, although the bathroom is integrated into it. The breakfast was excellent, plentiful, and Mrs. Engel and her staff were very friendly.

We visited the Hotel Engel for a day at the spa. It was a wonderful and relaxing day. There were so many ways to spend the day. We have rarely encountered such friendly and helpful staff. We would love to come back, and perhaps stay for a few days next time. Thank you so much!

Excellent staff, impeccable rooms, superb breakfast, and about 300m to the center. We stayed at the hotel twice and will come again.

A very nice hotel, you always receive a warm welcome! The breakfast is varied and delicious! The rooms are very tastefully decorated and very clean! Highly recommended! The proximity to the city center is fantastic, yet it's very quiet. We'd love to come back!
