Reviews
Hotel is conveniently close to the Arcaden and Hauptbahnhof, easy access to trains, buses and taxis.
- Good location
- No loud noise at nights
- Fitness First Gym nearby is free
- Washing option 1 \week
Disadvantages:
- No Wifi in the XXI. century for a Hotel is nonsense
- Smelly corridors, but fortunately in the room you can not feel
- Unequipped "Kitchen"
- The requests which are responsible over the Receptionist, not reach the right person/or no actions are made
I spent around 2 months there, and my stay was not appealing at all!
During my stay, I changed 3 rooms:
1- The first was on the 3rd floor, exposed to West; it was hot like hell, especially during the afternoon. In addition, since it was the last floor, the problem of bird collision and the sound of pigeons were really annoying! The room cleanliness was below average; definitely not suitable for a 4 stars hotel! The wifi connection was literally null!
2- I then moved to the first floor, South exposure; the problem of heating was still persistent, especially near the mid of the day. I had a problem in my toilet, it was clogged! I called the receptionist (his name was Bader), he visited my room to inspect, and then he wanted from me to do the cleaning! (Though it was not a cleaning problem! And assuming it was, should I be doing the cleaning!) I felt extremely offended and confused, and asked him to call a repairman! I waited for several hours, and the repairman did not show up, so, I asked to change my room, but was very offended and upset!
3- My last room was exposed to the East: heat problem was still present, and started from the early hours of the morning! The cleaning was the worst! Below zero in fact, because one time, they changed the bed covers, and replaced them with covers with blood-like stains on them! (I do not want to be definite about the stains, but I left a picture, for you to judge.)
So, when it comes to heat, it seems that this hotel has some real problems!
When it comes to cleanliness, they are definitely below the level of a 4-stars hotel!
In terms of staff, few people are good: I recall Eva, for example; she was very kind and professional; the remaining are not professional, especially a guy at the reception named Bader! Beside that his English is poor, he is very offensive, and hot-headed!
In terms of location, it is 10 minutes far from the central train station and 20 minutes far from the old city.
During my first month of stay, I spent around 3000 EUR, and none of the staff told me about the possibility of a discounted stay for long-term. After asking several times, I was offered (the offer was written) a discounted stay for 23 days, and out of the sudden, the treatment became even worse:
1- I asked them if they can possibility provide me a discount for the first initial month; they refused, and they become ruder and more offensive.
2- They wanted to charge me 50 EUR per week for cleaning, and 60 EUR for final cleaning, even though they did not tell me about that when offering me the discounted rate. Even one of the receptionists was extremely rude with me: she told me that I had to pay the cleaning fees, and if I am not happy, I can just leave the hotel!
3- I wanted to meet and speak with the hotel manager, but he refused to meet with me; after several emails, he finally replied to me! I had the feeling that I am speaking to the president of the US!
I spent more than 5000 EUR there, and look how I was treated! I am wondering what the real problem was! I was very confused and didn’t know the reason of their behavior!
My rating was 1-Star, because 0- or negative-star ratings are not available unfortunately!
1. Poor or very very bad wifi network they provide here. There lame answer that "sometime it happens and we will correct it" ,is such a false statement which you will realize if you are staying for more than a week. Again if you ask after couple of days, they say we can't corect it and if you want you can stay . Such a disappointment.
2. As simple as a knife replacement at kitchen was not possible for them. The knife provided in my kitchen was bad, it was not sharp so I was not able to use it. I just asked for replacement and they denied it.
So only question is what makes them to charge me 50 plus euro per night at this kind of service??
Good part is , it's very near to city center and every Monday room gets clean. Is that enough for this price range ?
The location of this hotel is excellent, you can walk to the city center easily, and there is an Aldi super market that you walk to (only 5 minutes walking), and a big shopping mall with another supermarket, restaurants, and a movie theater are also only a 5 minute walk away. The bed is comfortable and the room has dark curtains so that the sunlight won't wake you up too early. The hotel doesn't have a gym, but they give you a pass to a big, modern fitness center that also offers classes (also only a 5 minute walk away).
