Location

Situated at Tändlergasse 9, Hotel Münchner Hof Und Blauer Turm lies in the heart of Regensburg’s old town, just about 30 yards from the main square. There were four of us on a cycling holiday. The hotel provided safe storage for our bikes in an inner courtyard - we wheeled our bikes through reception. It is an old building which has been carefully and romantically redeveloped into a hotel. It has charm. Breakfast was served in a room which also serves as an art gallery. The hotel is right in the old town so easy walks to the main sights and restaurants.

Central location means rooms are compact but well lid out and everything of the standard you may expect. The room was very quiet considering the location in the centre of the historic part of town. The breakfast buffet is particularly good and the staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Very good bicycle park with multiple charge station, tools, pump and cleaning rags. Good place to stay if you are cycling.

Awesome stay in the Tower suite. Beautiful room with great amenities. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Great place to explore an amazing town.

Small quaint hotel in city center. Small rooms, even with "deluxe comfort" option. Not air conditioned and no ventilation for hot summer days. Great breakfast buffet. Needs regular black coffee, not just a convenience store cappuccino dispenser.

Quaint, historic hotel right in the city center. Beautiful breakfast and dining room. I would definitely return!

Stayed here one night before we were to board a river cruise ship the next day. Hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable. Staff was very friendly, also had a decent buffet breakfast in the morning. Total cost was 127 euro / $138 USD. Booked via email - and they did not take credit card info to reserve, which was odd, but OK.

We stayed in the Blue Tower - a building just a few step away from the reception. Besides meeting all expectations - spotless clean, excellent beds, quiet, spacious, great breakfast - we enjoyed the thinking that went into the room design. Everything was in place - a hook to put the towel, a light over a step leading to the room, the writing desk etc. The location is excellent too - one cannot park the car in this pedestrian area, but one can upload luggage and then move the car to a nearby parking house, which has a special discount for the hotel guests. I highly recommend the hotel, and specifically its the Blue Tower building.

Our family of four was very happy with this charming hotel. We stayed in the Blue Tower, 10 steps across the alley from the reception and main part of the hotel. When I had read other reviews, prior to traveling, that sounded a little weird to me but it works well and is no inconvenience. Our two rooms were more or less adjoining and completely delightful. Quite large rooms, with well appointed bathrooms. There are no refrigerators in the rooms, but all was comfortable. The breakfast room is in the main hotel, and very chic, with a vast spread for frühstück. The staff are wonderful in this fantastic hotel. They help with everything - directions, luggage storage after checkout, service in the restaurant, and they do it with a smile. Set some 30 yards up an alley from the main square of Regensburg, it is close to everything. It seems a little odd driving into the the square, as you may not see any other cars there. Also, you must drive down 12th century era streets full of pedestrians. At first, I thought we had gone the wrong way, but the navigator of my life told me to keep going. The pedestrians got out of the way, showing their successful education in physics. Once in the square, you park near the hotel's alley (there are many alleys), unload your bags and walk up the lane to the hotel. After checkin and ensconcing yourself in your room, you can come back and move the car to a public garage some 5-10 minutes walk away. The hotel has a special rate at the garage - the reception lady will explain how to negotiate the payment. It was 9EURO for the one night we were there. Speaking of one night, we messed up by not allowing two or three nights here. We used it as a quaint stopover, rather than the destination it is. If, like us, you are accustomed to rocking up to a restaurant, expecting to get a table in a reasonable amount time, you will be relegated to eating kebabs in your room like we were. Reservations are required for dinner everywhere, and even one place for breakfast!

My favorite place to stay in Regensburg. Rooms are very nice, extremely clean. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Staff are always friendly, available, and helpful.....Location is perfect for exploring the city. I have stayed here numerous times and always had a good experience here. Highly recommended!

Being a single traveller passing through for one night i usually get the worst room - not far off here: curtain-pull didnt work -- horrible pillow made for an uncomfortable night -- when booking, i was not made aware of the "available parking" being half a mile away in a multi-story carpark. Cost was 20 euro more than quoted at the time of booking. Warm, friendly, smiling staff mitigated the experience. Would not go again.
