Apollo in Regensburg

We booked this hotel on Expedia and was doing a later check in. The keys were left for us, but the wrong key was given. Apparently the room originally booked for us needed repair so they moved us to another room but didn't update the paper for us to communicate that. It made me feel uncomfortable because 1) we were locked out of the original room. 2) we tried to call for help and it didn't work- we got through via Expedia. 3) we tried the key to the key we were given after debate because we didn't want to walk into someone else's stay.

After all that, we were disappointed with the room. The photos don't match up to what the rooms are.

I was grateful the attendant came down and tried to work it out with us but after the many issues we had along our vacation, this was definitely my last straw. We left and got refunded thankfully and ventured to find a room late night for our stay in Regensburg.

I am sure it could have been great. Like I said, it was my last straw for Germany and the trouble we had along our vacation.

I was extremely disappointed with the way that our arrival at the hotel was treated. We were expecting to enjoy a lovely stay as well as use the advertised pool to have a long awaited swim. The hotel is located well outside of the innercity district in a residential area where we travelled to by bus. Prior to booking, I contacted the hotel staff via telephone to reassure that the spa would be open and available to guests. Due to hotel policy, we had to of course let ourselves be tested for the COV19 virus which we had successfully completed prior to arrival. Upon arrival and fueled excitement of going swimming and residing in our promised hotel room. The unfriendly hotel manager asked us to fill out our stay forms. I tried making friendly small talk yet it seemed unwelcome. Our stay was rejected. Why you ask? His reply was because he does not accept guests from the innercity. While booking, I had filled out my adress clearly stating where I am from. Yet we were still extremely rudely rejected from staying. Not even a hint of apology from the manager. Just Not Welcome. Later I called Booking.com to cancel my request and have them contact the staff to find out why we were not welcomed. Basically, prejudice. I carried a bag with waterbottles and the manager assumed that we were there to party. Doesn't sound quite right but I suppose we will never find out. Out of the 500 hotels that I have stayed at in my life. This experience was definately the most unprofessional. Overall a very big NO given to this location. There are plenty of other places to stay within the city and if you choose to come and enjoy the beautiful architecture offered here, my sugguestion for your stay would definately not be this one.
