Excellent Apartments Kreuzberg in Berlin

AVOID! – One of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever had.

Located in a remote and uninviting part of Berlin, with little nearby, the apartment was far from what the name ‘Excellent Apartments’ implies.

This was, without exaggeration, the biggest lie I have encountered in my 47 years of travel.

I stayed one night with my children in Room 6 – which was located right next to a busy, loud road. The windows were bent inward and did not fully close, making it impossible to block out the traffic and street noise. We endured a night of constant noise – truly unbelievable.

To make matters worse, there was only one shared toilet for all apartments. The bathtub was literally held together with black tape. The main apartment door slammed shut due to the absence of even a basic dampening mechanism – completely unacceptable for a place that calls itself ‘Excellent Apartments.’ These aren’t minor flaws – they reflect a clear lack of care, maintenance, and respect for guests.

When I contacted the property, I was told that noise wouldn’t be an issue “with the windows properly closed.” Given that the windows were damaged and couldn’t close fully – their response was nothing but dismissive and rude, and they refused any form of refund.

I expected a comfortable and restful place to stay with my children. Instead, I experienced discomfort, negligence, and total disregard from the host.

Travelers beware – this place is nowhere near ‘excellent’ – the name is completely misleading!

Sure, the rate is cheap, but the bathroom is in an insanely bad condition — you couldn’t rent it out, not even for free... fix it, soon. This makes people sick

Good: Very clean. Good sound isolation from the outside.
Very polite staff.
Glad my room was close to the bathroom.

Bad: When booking, it does not say that the bathroom is shared. I thought i booked a private bathroom. The price is too high to share.
Linen need some upgrading. I was also cold. Too thin duvet (and I always have the opposite pb). I ended up using my scarf on top to sleep.
Instructions the facility sent need to be clear, so i was going up and down the stairs!
Note: Please when you send instructions for self check in, let people know that it is a flat and they have to open through the door that says 'excellent apartments' and then find your room number.
They were vacuuming early in the morning.
Overall, too expensive for what they offer.

I wonder what kind of staff is praised? Here there are none! We have a three bed room with two chairs, a TV as big as a Tablet, no closet just a shelf. The room is outside of the actual object when it is third and one do not need to need to on the toilet waiting for the others because they can without the key in the actually premises. The room fits more to a hostel. In the apartment itself everything is in order clean and spacious. The fridge could be increased.
