Reviews
The tall paper keeps falling.. no rod to hold it. Everything is weird.
The mattress was too soft, you just keep sinking inside.
Personal opinion - the decor / paintings in the room are a bit scary.
The staff is friendly but lying. The first room they gave us was below ground level (basement) which was not mentioned in booking.com listing, the room itself had a bad odor and was extremely used and dirty.
We wanted to request a room change but the staff told us that it is not possible and that all rooms are reserved. Then we got booking.com involved and then they magically had 5 or so available rooms to which they could move us to. (They also lied that the hotel management wasn't working in the evening, turns out they were.)
The new room was better but still pretty used and somewhat dirty. See attached photos. And we only discovered on the last day of our stay that one of the pillows had an old blood (period??) stain. The room also had bugs.
Room are nicely designed, and I appreciated the convenience of the automatically closing curtains.
However, the bed felt poorly made. The mattress was so soft that is felt very uncomfortable to sleep in it.
The hotel's soundproofing was extremely inadequate; I could clearly hear talking guests in the hallway, day and night.
The street noise was noticeable 24/7
The hotel doors were also extremely loud when closing.
There was no information about the WiFi code in the room.
The hotel phone lacked extensions information for reception.
The toilet paper holder was not functional, causing the roll to fall every time it was used.
The bathroom and room has been cleaned without attention to details.
The printed TV channel list did not match the actual TV program.
Good location.
Pleasant staff and spacious modern rooms and communal areas.
I will be staying here next time I visit family in Charlottenburg
