A simple hotel. The nice part is that from 5 p.m. you can enjoy free drinks, including wine and beer. Breakfast was quite weak, and there are very few parking spaces — it’s hard to find parking nearby.

It's evident: I booked one room, I paid it, I received the confirmation and when I arrived at the hotel, I was confronted to the refusal to be hosted and get the explication that there are no place for me and my wife. The friends who wanted to be received at their paid and confirmed room have had the same experience.

Not great but good enough
Good bed and breakfast. Everthing clean but interior seems unchanged since 1980.

The hotel rooms have seen their best times, yet they are clean and all is functioning. Last refurbishment probably in 80ties. The reception was missing, getting keys from neighboring hotel. This also means there is no evening life - so prepare yourselves. Breakfast was nice - fruits, vegetables, eggs - quite nice choice. This is a hotel you want to pick if you visit town for work or want to go to old town in Wetzlar.

An old hotel centrally located on top of the small hills over the old city Wetzlar. I stayed for one short night and got a clean but outdated hotel room. The bath was of good size and clean. The person that met me in the reception, I also met in the bar. She was nice and helpful. Parking directly outside for no extra cost. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes’ walk away from the central parts of the old city with all the restaurants and bars. Burgerhof has a restaurant, but it was closed when I was there.

Great hotel, great staff and a whole boatload of character. The fresh trout dinner in the restaurant downstairs is amazing, everything is classic to historical in styling and the building itself used to be an old time mail service.

The beds are a little different than your typical American hotels and you shouldn't expect AC, so you may want to consider this when selecting a hotel at the height of summer.

The breakfast here blows away typical American fare you would get at chain hotels and the beer is cheap, high quality and in good supply!

Most of the hotels in this area are somewhat centrally located, and I recommend this one be toward the top of your wishlist
