I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel! Maybe it’s more appropriate to say resort as it has; outdoor pool, spa, party hut, ski school, ski rental, restaurant, childrens club, game room, bar and many more facilities.. every detail of hospitality is well thought of with pleasant little surprises, concepts and entertainment. They went extra mile for families with children to make the vacation unforgettable. We were very happy with our vacation here. We will definitely come back and recommend to our entourage too

Great for family winter vacation, cozy & clean hotel with tasty food and good service. Hotel has good kids areas for the whole family. Ski lifts are right in front of the hotel, perfect location for both skiing and visiting the town.
Note: Downstairs kid play area has a weird marble stairs on the side, which seems to serve no purpose other than being a danger to small kids. That probably should be handled before something happens there.

What a gem of a hotel! Our camping vacation got cut short due engine issues. We had read of Der Brander and decided to give it a go. The thought was relax together, walk in the woods together, for hubs gravel biking, for me the sauna, dinner together. We added the half pension package - breakfast and dinner - and it was all a much needed, no-worry vacation. Dinner could be chosen each morning, every meal was very nice!! We added as well the sauna package, it was low season, the sauna was perfect for relaxing a few hours each day.
Every evening an entertainment activity, super fun. Pub Quiz, music, Bingo.
What I really loved about this place, was the humble attentiveness to every guest. Young and old, fit and less mobile, all employees were super nice, caring and attentive - truly faith in humanity restored ❤️!! Please keep hold of this always, it was so refreshing to see❤️❤️❤️

Hergl is very welcoming. The service is usually not so passionate and cheerful. This will make your stay even more enjoyable. Unfortunately we had to leave two days earlier because my wife was ill. Special thanks to Maartje Mos. She did everything she could to make sure we were properly looked after. When we returned we were carefully looked after, food was brought to our room and at the same time a sweet call from the service (Jennifer) if everything was ok and if there was anything else they could do. Rob, you can be proud of your team!!

Very clean hotel with excellent service. High-class staff who really care about holidaymakers. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can make your holiday enjoyable. Breakfast is plentiful and very tasty. Dinner is complete, every day you can choose from different main courses, meat, fish, vegetarian and other dishes.

Everything was perfect, we will definitely come back. Maybe the indoor pool is a good option for those who like to swim, but this is only a guess. The chefs deserve even more stars, but unfortunately they do not have them. I can only recommend them

We are the big fun’s of this place, this was our 5th visit and we will definitely will come back again. Located nicely, a lot of things to do as a family with kids, nice restaurant, caring staff. ❤️

An amazing experience that we will not soon forget! The hotel's location is perfect for a nice walk to attractions in Winterberg (Shopping area, Ski Lifts, Rodelbahn, Hiking Trails, etc.), and a short drive to surrounding towns with other attractions (swimming, mini-golf, boating, etc.).
The sauna and wellness area is very relaxing. Soothing music in the background while you enjoy multi temperature saunas, steam rooms, the heated pool, water bed massages, or a comfortable chair to chat with friends or family.
The "key to everything" is a bracelet that is used to open your room or charge purchases (meals, souvenirs, drinks, hours at the spa). It fits nicely on your wrist and is water and sweat proof. Great idea, so you don't need to carry a lot of cash with you.
The staff is very helpful and friendly. They gave us the lay of the land with a lot of suggestions for things to do in the hotel and the surrounding areas.
Typical breakfast buffet, but dinners were fantastic! 3-4 course meals that'll make your taste buds go wild. Bar menu is limited, but a very nice selection of Gin.
Choose your room wisely because it does matter. The room we had was small and fit the bill for sleeping, but it was a bit cramped with the twin beds, desk, two chairs, and a wardrobe. Believe that the smell of wetness in the room was due to the shower doors not being able to close all the way, which causes water to be on the floor while showering.
All in all, it is a great experience that we hope to do again in the near future. Might bring more family members and get an apartment instead of a couple of rooms. They get 9.75 stars out of 10 (because of the shower doors).

The staff is very kind and the rooms are very clean and and with 8 beds you can accommodate many people. The one bad thing is the wifi as there is a poor signal throughout the entire hotel.

Location top, dinners great. Kids friendly, however the kids club they could improve a bit, very small and outdated in my view.
Kids buffet can be improved, it was everyday chicken and friet, could add some pasta and beef, carrots, etc. Please be aware that it is a Dutch place.:)
