A bit old fashioned (but spacious) rooms however, it is super clean and quiet. You can sleep here like a baby. They also have very nice mid size pillows not like other hotels with the giant ones. Clean, quiet. I have used it as due to a fair (Messe) nothing was available in Essen area. It did require a bit more travel with public transportation, but it was manageable. Google Maps shows the proper ways to get there. Let me also mention the extra kindness to provide me an iron (which is not basic here, but could still be managed) without extra costs. Really kind. Super central location in the middle of the city of Heiligenhaus. Great view of the Neandertal from the upper floors. Very nice facility and barrier-free in every respect. Nice hotel stay for a night. Big rooms, little dated. Could hear some traffic from Road but good location and easy walking distance to old town kettwig, the river and the station to take you into Essen. Breakfast had a good selection and hotel staff were very nice and helpful.

A very pleasant experience for an overnight stay in Kettwig. A great place to dine with generous portions . The breakfast was very good witt a real friendly and attentive service. The rooms were fine ( maybe the bed a bit low ) All in all a perfect place to stay.

I will just say that ,it's ok.

Exceptionally clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Tablet in the room didn't work at all and I woke up one morning to no hot water. Nothing worse than an ice cold shower. If not for those two issues, I would have given 5 stars. Decent area with just about everything you need within walking distance (a mile or so).

The hotel was made from an old factory so you can see some cool photos of that era. The hotel itsself is well maintained and cleaned. Breakfast is classic continental with a good choice of options. Lunch/dinner options are pretty good too - you can even mix&match a couple of options. "Die Krone" is a really nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is extremely courteous and friendly, really nice people! Extraordinary buildings renovated in a lovely way to fulfill the five star feeling of the hotel (this really old stone and brick castle). Fireplaces with live fires going in the evenings are cosy. But be prepared for the smell if you are sensitive. The fine dining experience is a thing I truly appreciate and recommend!

Idyllic hotel in a quiet area but with good local transportation connections to Düsseldorf airport and Essen. The hotel has a good restaurant, bar and a 9-pin bowling alley. The rooms and the breakfast are quite basic, but serve their purpose. Overall I think you get really good value for your money when staying in this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Stüttgens hotel in Velbert, especially the personal, individual approach. Very nice renovated building in a historic complex. Still very central location. Even the small rooms are really well divided, you don't miss anything. The breakfast was also very good.

I can talk a lot about the advantages of this hotel, but I want to highlight the most basic ones. The owners of the hotel have made this place so comfortable and cozy that you will feel like at home. Stayed here for some training recently and the hotel is great. It's modern and spotlessly clean and the owners and staff are incredibly helpful We had a dinner with a group of about 30 people on both nights we stayed and the food was excellent. Breakfast was great too. Lots of choice and they would make something for you if you asked I would definitely stay here again if I go back to Velbert

Hotel is on the side of the highway. No staff onside. The so called "restaurant" is a highway Burger King. Room was ok.

Located on a reststop, check-in is in the gas station. The staff didn't speak English but we made it work. As a guest of the hotell you get a 25% discount on food at the reststop. Parking is behind the hotel in a secluded parking space. The hotel and rooms where very clean, fresh and quiet. Perfect as an overnight stop while traveling.

Excellent camping with very cosy sleeping pods (Campingfass). Very comfortable with heating and electricity. Service is great, very friendly. Location is also super practical, near S bahn station to Essen but also only 30 minutes by car from Düsseldorf and Wuppertal. Italian restaurant (trattoria da Giulia) at the entrance is excellent, but also many restaurants and shops in nearby Werden.

We were very satisfied for our visit to Essen. Super rich breakfast, nice staff, familiar and fine rooms. The center (main train station) can be reached by express bus in 20 minutes. I would prefer a "sausage roll" to the Greek in the future - but that's a matter of taste. The accommodation would be a reason for us to visit the city of Essen again. Five stars ***** from Lörrach!

The only thing I can think of that was not so great. Was that in room 246 the soap dispenser in the shower was not mounted to te wall correct, sort of "dangeling" in one screw. That could result in water damage in the future.

We had a very pleasant 3 night stay in Hotel Alberga. Everything from check-in to check-out was excellent. Our room was large with desk and chairs for work. The location is really far away. It takes more than 30 minutes to drive to Dusseldorf and more than an hour to drive back during the morning rush hour. The parking lot under the hotel is 12.5 euros per night. The facilities are quite old, but fortunately they are relatively clean and there is plenty of hot water for bathing.

Stayed for 2 nights, i discovered the room cleaning was not provided by the hotel, but only upon request, and needed to be asked, never happened in hotel of that level, nobody told me that at the check in. Remained 2 days without it cleaned. No coffee machine and water boiler in the room. Very strange for a 300 euro per night hotel room. At the check out they did not even apologize for that issue.
