Fletcher Waldhotel Nordrhein-Westfalen in Heiligenhaus

Beautiful location for a lovely walk and sightseeing in the forest and neighborhood. Our only disappointment was when our waiter( i think supervisor, indian gentleman), asked us to pay for our dinner on the first night, although we mentioned to be billed to our room. We were staying here for several days and would have preferred to pay when our stay was finished. He still insisted. This was unusual, and I had never experienced this anywhere else. It felt like he did not trust us.
Rooms were good and had all the necessities.

Fine if you want to stay overnight and go back in time. It feels as if time has literally stood still here: the rooms are severely outdated, the mattresses are worn and sunken, and that’s before I even start about the food. Everything is bought from a wholesaler and nothing is freshly prepared. The fish and chips are an absolute no-go. The carpaccio portion is far too small for the price. All in all, absolutely not recommended.

Despite it being a 4 star hotel, I have had much better service at a 2 star hotel. It was a 1 night stay for us as we were passing through and it was clear we were not the type of clientele they prefer. Room was okay, bit outdated. The coffee machine and kettle is a nice touch. Food is okay but very overpriced. Would not return.

WORST HOTEL EVER! On the second night there was a big party going on inside the restaurant with the doors open and in the garden. With the paper thin walls we could hear everything. After midnight we tried calling the reception because of the extreme noise outside. No answers and we had to go downstairs. No staff present, except the security guy that did not help us. There was a big group party hosted there with an eventplanner and with no one of the hotel to take responsibility to make sure the party ended before midnight. The party was going on from 8 until 3 in the morning and we have not slept! Drunk guys everywhere throughout the hotel. The hotel does not care for their other guests and their safety/wellbeing with no staff present after 11 o’clock at night. We were so angry and obviously could not stay another night with the chance of having another disaster and went home a day early. Our holiday was ruined and our money was gone. You cannot count on the hotel to help you when you have problems with other guests. Furthermore, the hotel was very old with thin walls so you can hear every small noise, old/not working sauna room where you have the pay for, old furniture in tiny room, a very small outdated gym with a few broken (“fixed”) machines and a boring, small breakfast buffet. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL if you want to sleep and enjoy your stay.
