I just returned from a weekend at H+ Hotel & SPA Friedrichroda and couldn’t be happier with my stay! The room was spacious, spotless, and the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. I spent hours unwinding in their thermal spa—saunas, steam baths, and relaxing loungers made it the perfect escape. The breakfast buffet was incredible, with everything from fresh pastries to made-to-order eggs. Best of all, the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Can’t wait to come back!

Great breakfast buffet. Nice bar. Excellent spa facilities with indoor pool, 50°/70°/80°/90°C sauna, Serail room, and massage. No A/C can lead to very hot room temperatures on the top floor on a hot summer day. Insufficient parking when hotel is sold out. No obvious option for overflow parking.

Great location for this beautiful hotel, room was good but we didn’t spend much time there. It was more the pool and spa area that caught our attention for this one. The area is great with amazing local restaurants and bars right at your convenience. I would definitely stay again.

Hotel was absolutely inflexibel to reschedule a booking due to personal circumstances, despite multiple stays. I will never book here again, no service whatsoever.

Despite the reaction from the Hotel below, there was plenty of opportunity to reschedule the booking, even at a possibly higher price (although there were still rooms available at the same discounted rate). No communication, no questions were asked, just a turn down on my request to reschedule....funny how the only reaction comes when you leave a negative review. not client-friendly

Nice hotel , in quiet location surrounded by trees, but with good car parking and only 5 mins walk into town.
Room was clean and comfortable with nice touches that many other hotels do not normally provide, like refrigerator in the room, and sufficient wall hooks on the bathroom for towels, wash bags etc. plus drying line in shower for wet swimming costumes.
Breakfast buffet was particularly good with large selection, including cereals with heathy options with and without dried fruit and several milk options like low fat and lactose free. Similarly large selection of breads, fresh fruits and yogurts, cheeses and cold meats, hot selection with 3 types of egg, plus beacon, sausage, and frikadelle, also sweet alternatives such as croissants and pancakes.
Pool and sauna area were also very good with a feeling of quality that looked well maintained. The sauna selection was good with 50, 70, 80 and 90 deg. saunas all clearly marked plus two different steam rooms, a plunge pool, different shower options, foot bathes, and several different quiet areas.
Only down side was Friedrichroda itself, which has very limited section of restaurant alternatives if you want something other than traditional hearty fried brauhaus food.

We stayed three nights. The hotel is situated next to the Kurpark in the town of Friedrichroda, located about 20 km from the city of Gotha in the German state of Thuringia. The town is a health resort and the Ludowingerquelle, a certified water source, is situated at the park. A kurtax of EUR 2.10 pp and day is levied. In return guests receive a card, giving free and good public transportation in the area and discounts at some of the attractions. It took us less than ten minutes to walk from the hotel to the Friedrichroda tram stop with good connections to Gotha or Bad Tabarz. The hotel is large and includes a spa area with additional offerings for guests. Our room was spacious, very clean and reasonably quiet. The bed was very good and our room also had a nice sitting group and a safe. We only noted that no coffee maker was available and that the bath room was slightly outdated with a tub, but everything was well maintained and nice. Breakfast was included in our rate and very good with a large selection of both hot and cold items. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it turned out to be good, although we are no fans of buffet meals. The staff at the front desk was really excellent, giving good information about the local area. Also the restaurant and housekeeping teams should be commended for very good service.
