Anika Studios in Faliraki

I dont even know where to begin. On arrival we where greeted by an unfriendly reception man who handed us our keys and told us we’re on the second floor when we originally requested a ground floor apartment. We had booked 2 rooms , one my parents stayed in and the other me and my partner stayed in. Both rooms where on the third floor and we had to carry our luggage up with no offer of any help and there is no lift in the hotel. The reason we requested a ground floor apartment is because my dad is awaiting a knee replacement and struggles to walk up steps. Upon entering the room, we where beyond disappointed. The room looked like nothing in the photos and with one sheet on the bed. There was no additional blankets or bedding apart from a sleeping bag in the wardrobe, which was dirty. On our first night, we couldn’t sleep as the room was freezing cold, as it was October. When we went downstairs to ask for a normal duvet to sleep with, the receptionists little boy was sat at the reception desk playing games. He had to call for his dad who then came over and told us nothing could be done until the morning, so we had to find some blankets in a laundry cuboard which where also dirty. Our bed felt like we where sleeping on a rock and it was impossible to even sleep on so i was awake all night. The drains absolutely stank and where vile, they left a horrible smell in our room. The shower was absolutely disgraceful, the shower curtain pole was hanging off the wall when we entered the room and you could barely fit in the shower as it was so small and flooded the whole bathroom when you showered. Anytime you tried to pull the curtain round the pole would fall off the wall so we had to take turns to hold the pole in place on the wall whilst either of us showered otherwise it would be impossible and we where denied another room until 3 days later. The toilet seat button was broken and half missing which meant you had to push a certain way to get the toilet to even flush. The walls where dirty and mouldy and the windows where near black from the dirt. We had no self catering facilities. We where given 2 bowls between the 4 of us. One room had 2 bowls and one room had none so we just shared. This is NOT self catering , they don’t even provide you with enough knives or forks to eat with and anytime you ask for anything you get told nothing can be done until the morning, and when that rolls round they don’t do anything. We had nothing to heat up any food , no microwave, no toaster, nothing. It was impossible to self cater so we had to eat out for breakfast lunch and dinner. There wasn’t even any hand soap or washing up liquid so we had to purchase sponges and cleaner. My parents rooms shelf was hanging off the wall, which a simple screw would have fixed, but they don’t care. One of our party was then moved to a better room the next night on request and then me and my partner where moved on the 3rd day. These are obviously the refurbished rooms but we did still

After travelling for 50+ years this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We specified disability issues which is why we chose here upon arriving they keys were thrown at up and we were given the top floor their attitude was take it of leave it. After speaking To our holiday provider we were eventually moved. The food was frozen and partially cooked and the service was appalling even though it was very quiet. Cleanliness was another issue with ants all over the room which was supposed to have been cleaned which it wasn’t even our small trash can wasn’t emptied. Some of the staff were more interested is the young women and bikini tops rather than guests.

Super disappointed with the accommodation on arrival to our long awaited honeymoon in Greece. The apartment was awful, the toilet / shower was tiny. You had to stand in the shower to close the door! The balcony was just as small. The air conditioning rattled constantly and for at least an hour after being switched off. The only positive was that it was clean. The beds were uncomfortable, zero self catering options. A fridge and a kettle. The onsite facilities at Anika were poor, was the absolute worst breakfast ever for the cost of 14 each! A standard can of mineral was 3.50, you literally couldn't eat anything without spending 30+. On the plus side the neighbouring accommodation was beautiful, the pool area and unlike a few of the staff the girl working in the bar was extremely friendly. The weather could not be any better, its what made the holiday. If id know you'd to walk almost 1km down hilltop the closest shop and pay 10 euro to a taxi to come up, i'd have chosen another property. There is also no lifts at this property and zero help with carrying luggage. Disappointed to say we weren't asked once was our stay.ok, just a hand written note under the door to say check out tomorrow 11am! The warmth of the hospitality ive experienced in other countries sadly was amiss. The town for food and drink was also over priced. All in all we made the holiday ourselves, Rhodes is fabulous absolutely stunning but Falaraki in itself disappointing and Anika a choice I would not recommend.
