We stayed at Meni Hotel & Apartments for several nights during our visit to Athens and had a pleasant experience overall.

The location is very convenient, just a short walk from Metaxourgeio Metro Station, making it easy to explore major attractions like the Acropolis, Plaka, and Monastiraki. Despite being central, the neighborhood is fairly quiet at night.

The room was modern, clean, and well-equipped with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, and a nice bathroom. Wi-Fi was fast and stable – a big plus for both work and travel needs. Some rooms come with small kitchenettes, which is great for longer stays.

The staff was friendly and helpful, always available to assist with directions or tour recommendations. The breakfast served in the hotel was fresh, with a good variety of options including Greek pastries, fruit, and eggs.

While the area around Metaxourgeio is more urban and not as touristy, we felt safe and found several great local eateries within walking distance.

So, where do I begin. First off, believe all the reviews about the owner! Don’t make our mistake thinking we’ll just stay out of his way.
My partner and I booked this hotel via ******* (6 nights end of September 2025). We arrived at 10.30pm to be told by the receptionist that we had to pay 60€, on top of the 30€ local tax (which is the only charge we were expecting to pay on arrival). They claimed ******* did not charge us enough for the room. We attempted to dispute this, saying that is between you and *******, not us, as we had already paid in full to ******* the quoted room price. The owner (old man) was there yelling at us and the receptionist (in Greek so not known what was being said). We asked what happens if we do not pay, and it was stated forthright, you will not be checked in. It was late, we were tired, so we reluctantly paid, as they were just not budging or being fair to their guests.
Even if you have no direct encounter with the owner, you will hear him in the middle of the night. We were awoken several times during our stay from hearing him down at reception yelling at either guests or staff (I assume) even at 2am in the morning. The TV in the reception is often on at an extremely loud volume. I asked the receptionist if she could turn it down, and she said she was not allowed.
I wish I never booked my stay here!!

Checked in and had to pay additional 45 euro fee due to internal issue with *******. Sheets smell like cigarettes. Second evening door key didnt work. Waitied at front desk while hotel staff were in a heated argument for 5 minutes. Room on second floor, could hear them yelling till 11:30pm. Checked out a day early to go elsewhere. Definitely avoid.

Extremely bad smoking smell all over the hotel. Despite EU regulations that explicitly ban smoking indoors, there were people constantly smoking at the reception / breakfast area. The smells would even come from the ventilation in the room.

We spent four days at the Meni Hotel in Athens, Psaron 9. It was a great choice. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly and professional. They speak excellent English and are very informative. Thank you to all the staff, especially Mr. Yiannis and the lovely Jessica♥️ 9-13/6/2025
Note for improvement: The air conditioning system is fixed at a certain temperature and does not change.

It is a very nice hotel with clean floors and rooms, and excellent personnel. Definitely a good place to stay. Near to subway station. Supermarkets and restaurants

Disappointing stay. The breakfast was terrible with very limited options and poor quality. The TV in the room didn’t work at all, and housekeeping barely showed up—our room was hardly cleaned during our stay. To make it worse, the heating would turn on by itself every night, making the room uncomfortably hot. Definitely not worth the price.

I would rather not to describe my experience!!! No matter how well equipped the rooms are when the owner shows you that you are not welcome but behaves like persona non grata I think it's enough!!!
I would like to share my congratulations to the cleaners of the hotel who try everyday for the best result possible and to the receptionist who was polite in general. In my opinion each of them deserve a better working space so as their skills and qualifications to be appreciated.
