Philippos Hotel in Athens

We had a wonderful stay at Philippos Hotel in Athens. The location is excellent, just steps from the Acropolis and within walking distance of major historical sites, which made exploring the city incredibly easy.

The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the rooms are very comfortable. We stayed in two single rooms, and both were well organized and quiet. The bathrooms were spotless, and everything felt carefully maintained.

The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was consistently warm, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety and high-quality options.

One of the highlights is the rooftop, which offers beautiful views of the Parthenon — absolutely stunning, especially in the early morning or evening.

Overall, this felt like five-star service at a very reasonable price. We were truly and pleasantly surprised, and very happy with our choice. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Hotel Philippos in Athens was a wonderful place to stay. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Mr. Ilias was especially kind and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and stress-free, which we truly appreciated.

I stayed at Philippos with my family on vacation. The cost was exceptionally affordable for the perfect location, and our room was exactly as advertised. The best part of our stay was the incredible service. When we arrived late with tired kids the service staff helped us find a parking spot near the hotel and got us settled quickly. Throughout our short stay hotel staff were more than willing to share recommendations and eager to help in every way to ensure we had a wonderful, relaxing visit. I would stay again and recommend to all families.

Exceptional hospitality in the heart of Athens

I had a fantastic stay at Philippos Hotel! The location is unbeatable—literally steps away from the Acropolis Museum and the metro station. For anyone interested in tours, there is an 'Athenian Tours' office right across the street, which is very convenient and enjoy the Acropolis view from the rooftop.

The Standout Service:
The staff truly made my trip special. The male receptionist who welcomed me was incredibly nice and accommodating. Not only did he help me carry my heavy luggage upstairs, but he also spent time explaining the room, the Acropolis area, and suggesting great places to visit. On a day when I arrived and it was raining, he even thoughtfully offered me an umbrella. Another nice touch was the complimentary coffee served from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Even when the hotel was busy, everything felt very organized and clean.

The Room & Breakfast:
My room smelled wonderful, and the queen-sized bed was very comfortable. The washroom was clean and equipped with a hairdryer and toiletries. Breakfast was another highlight—it was very full and packed with a great assortment of breads, salads, sweets, juices, and coffee.

Things to Consider:
Stairs: The staircase is not very suitable for people with large luggage or mobility issues. While I was helped at check-in, the receptionist wasn't available when I was leaving, so I had to carry my heavy bags down the stairs by myself.

Amenities: Note that while they provide basic toiletries, there were no toothbrushes or slippers, so you should pack your own.

Smoking: For those who smoke, it is permitted outside the hotel and on the rooftop.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The location and the neighborhood are truly beautiful. It's a lovely hotel just a 10-15 minute walk from places to visit in central Athens. The staff and reception are very polite, understanding, helpful, and friendly. The rooms and bathroom are very clean, the beds are quite comfortable, and it's ideal for a comfortable and quiet night's sleep. The breakfast offered by the hotel is varied and will satisfy everyone, including vegetarians and vegans. There are many lovely little cafes, neighborhood pubs, and places to enjoy yourself around the hotel. We would like to thank Philippos Hotel and its staff for making our stay so comfortable. We will definitely be back as soon as possible!

We spent a beautiful week here. Hotel looks elegant and fancy, with the nicest personel we've ever met. Our room was clean, with an amazing view on Acropolis. The breakfasts were delicious and fresh, with new delicacies every time. A huge plus was also the ability to make hot drinks throughout the day, it was great to have a coffee during the day. We will definitely visit this place again ❤️

The balcony is very large and you can enjoy the night view of the Acropolis up close. The bathroom is very small. The breakfast is very good compared to other hotels. The front desk staff is warm and friendly.

Location is excellent, near Acropolis and Plaka at a walking distance. Personnel is very kind.
