Dolce Vita Residence in Kalamakion

Amazing apartments very quiet and perfect for couples or families. Close enough to laganas zakynthos town and of course kalamaki so plenty to do staff were so helpful family run and helped us rent quads and do other activities. Unreal views too! Very reasonable price would totally come back

This is the first time visiting Dolce Vita, though we have visited Kalamaki 8 times through the years. It is a small family run complex that is well maintained and very clean. There are 8 studio apartments, single room with basic kitchen with a separate bathroom, and 4 larger apartments with separate bedrooms. We stayed in a ground floor Studio apartment.

The apartment is basic, as you would expect in a 1-2 star property but is cleaned every day, with sheets and towels replaced every 3rd day. The air-con was very good, even during the unusual heatwave (42deg) , though this is an additional extra, as is the safety-deposit box.

The pool was clean, it has a shallow end at both ends, though may not be toddler friendly. There is a pool bar that does lovelly snacks and a wide range of bottled soft drinks and beers at reasonable prices. Expect a frozen glass with your beer.

On the last day, check-out was 11.00am though we had an evening flight. The owners allowed us to stay at the complex, to use the pool, snack-ba etc which was very welcome.

It is only 50yds from a supermarket taking a shortcut across the field. It is in a very quiet area, and is very peacful and tranquil. Its a mile walk to the kalamaki centre and about 1.2m to the beach.
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay there. Highly Recommended.

Nice & quiet small hotel. Great if you're looking for a relaxing spot, while also being close to facilities such as restaurants (the beautiful boulevard of Zakynthos town is only a 5/10 minute drive). Staff is very friendly. Yes the interior is definitely dated, but it does the job and I'm not going to an island like this to be inside my room the whole day anyway. The exterior is beautiful and well kept. You'll see some friendly animal visitors in the form of small Salamanders, Wall Gecko's and (unfortunately for my scared self) the occasional Praying Manthis. Keep in mind during the summer you're probably going to need airconditioning in the room to get some decent sleep. It's €5 extra per day.

Me and my partner recently stayed here for 7 nights over late May / early June. For the price we paid, we couldn't fault it at all. The rooms are basic but clean and have everything you could reasonably expect, beds are comfy and cleaners come in every day to refresh sheets / towels etc. The pool is also very clean and, given the small number of rooms, rarely very busy so you often have it to yourself. Joy and the rest of the family are lovely people who make you feel very welcome and cannot do enough for you in terms of helping to book taxis or arrange vehicle rentals / day trips etc. A number of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, including a lovely bakery and convenience shop almost on the doorstep. Several other reviews mention the noise from nearby dogs / cockerels etc and while this is true, it never bothered us at all, so I guess it just depends how much of a light sleeper you are. Personally wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
